Furrion appliances

I've just read an old thread regarding Furrion and Lippert companies.
We're considering a 5er that contains ALL Furrion appliances, including a 12 volt fridge.
those of you who have experience with them, please give your thoughts.

it doesn't help to describe them as "****" and "king of ****".

We're looking at the new Cougar 2100RK because of its length. Did they go cheap?

Yeah, there seem to be quite a few complaints about Furrion components, but maybe they've just replace the complaints about the Norcold refrigerators. And the tankless water heater complaints have replaced the complaints about the Suburban or Atwood water heaters. To be fair, you rarely hear anyone extol the virtues of their particular brand of appliance, but there's usually no shortage of people with issues.

Our 4 year old Furrion stove/oven and microwave work okay, but could be simply the luck of the draw.

Camped next to a new Imagine trailer made by Grand Design has the Furrion appliances , he's had nothing but problems ,his 12 volt fridge needs to be replaced ,won't run . Had an RV tech working on it yesterday ,did get the furnace running ,but the fridge is shot . Had some other electronic problems ,I believe the inverter replaced ,it went bad .

Furrion provided cheap low quality items long before they were acquired by LCI. The shore power receptacles and cords they put out a few years ago were known to have the LED indicators go out the first time you used them. Then they started getting into more and more stuff, like electronics, then appliances. First they became a Lippert "partner", then Lippert bought them out.

The issue of lack of quality in the RV Industry is the direct result of companies such as Lippert, who basically have a monopoly on providing components. No one can get close to their pricing.

Lets use this because its high quality, has a failure rate of about 0.00003%, and makes total common sense in this scenario............................Said no RV manufacturer ever LOL.

It's hard to find quality in anything! Our new fridge in our home only lasted 2 years. LG seems to be having lots of quality issues with everything. Most everything we consume is made is China or with China made parts. Our 2017 Reflection has Furrion components and there have been no problems. Of course it's 6 years old. I cannot speak for Furrion components made lately. After Covid the world changed with everything.

We had a brand new camper with the Furrion Oven that was CR@P.... convinced Lippert to replace it, the new one is just a little bit less crappy.... Hard to keep the temp steady... That is the ONLY electronic I have used of theirs ..

Furrion is owned by Lippert. It's awfully hard to get away from them these days but I do so IF I can. So I wouldn't avoid an RV I'm otherwise sold on if it were equipped with Lippert junk but two units being otherwise equal.. I'd avoid them.

It does seem to be going that direction for sure with the 12v fridges and all.. I like my gas/120v fridge. Does everything I need it to do..

I don't boondock, so my needs are different than a lot of others and I just know what has worked for me over the years..

Won't be getting any kind of "new" vehicle anytime soon... Will fix what I got and deal with it.. 🙂

Keystone does boast the camper is affordable...(read "cheap").
we'll be moving from an awesome TC build strong with attention to detail.

We would move to this 5er because we want to tandem tow and be within the length laws of WI and have more room. I'm concerned about Furrion as we're not familiar with it. The dealer told us the industry is moving this direction and that a 12 volt fridge is to become the norm. Truth or sales pitch?

I have a 2019 Forest River Rockwood Mini-Lite travel trailer and all the electronics are Furrion. The fridge is Dometic, the A/C is Coleman the stove/oven /water heater is a Suburban.

All seem to be working so far and no issues... Luck of the draw I think as far anyone having issues or not?

In the end, you will hear about more problems on any product than praises on any make/model/brand etc on the interwebs... It's free to complain about a product... It costs money to have someone praise something.. 🙂 (note: no-one paid me to say that..)

It would appear that Furrion appliances dominate the low and middle range 5th wheels.
That would make me think it is a financial decision to supply them, i.e. lower supply
price. Cheap doesn't necessarily mean junk. We have a Furrion stove/oven, and microwave,
and have had no issues. But some people have. I have no idea of the percentages.
