I'm thinking about replacing the old steps on my 5th wheel with the Lippert Solid Step. My questions are 1. can I do it myself or do I need professional installation and 2.those of you that have installed the step are you happy with it? Thank you

Solid Step has extendable feet to insure step has a solid bas making contact to the ground.

Torklift is very solid as they rest on the ground. Plus they dont have the limitations the solid step style has.

We have a fifth wheel on order that comes with the Lippert solid step. Unfortunately, we will be unable to open these steps in our storage area because the units are close together. Iโ€™ll be buying the second generation MORryde that has the new hinge. This allows you to release the steps easily and it is similar to pulling the hinge pins out of an interior door. Iโ€™ll remove the steps and the bottom will easily slide under the unit next to me then Iโ€™ll just put the hinge pins back in. It isnโ€™t near as convenient as the older style steps that pull out from underneath but it will work for me. At the camp site theyโ€™ll just be lowered per the design.
There is no opening for the old style steps or the Torklift Glowstep and I donโ€™t want to cut into the skirt of a brand new trailer.

I love my Lippert solid step mainly because the top step is wider than the rest, and feels very safe exiting the camper.

I installed them on my TT. The hardest part was removing the rusty bolts on the old steps. The actual install is easy.

Go to YouTube and search for rv step installation. A lot of information available. Also the Etrailer website shows how to videos regarding step installation

I replaced mine a few years ago after the steps became bent. Fairly easy bolt-on swap.

Look for some install instructions to verify if the steps you want have something special to deal with.

I installed a set on my las camper, and a set on my bro in laws camper... BUT we did the other brand - morryde Step above
..... It was extremely easy to install....

I know these are not what you are looking at but give these a look if you haven't already. I put these on our rig and they are very stable and they store outside vs inside your rig. One of the reasons we chose this was when ours is in storage the other ones wouldn't have enough room to swing out without hitting the wall. The other reason is my wife didn't want to have to clean the steps all the time or have a chance that any dirt or mud from the steps to fall in our fifth wheel.

Anyway these only took maybe a half hour to install and I imagine the others aren't to difficult either. I know some people have had issues with binding on the bottom of the door with the ones you are looking at.

I don't have any direct experience with this set of steps, but I will jump in and give Torklift a two thumbs up recommendation. I have been using them for for service for several decades.

I am not sure what your technical skills are. I don't think I would try installation. I believe seeing my neighbors it may need some reinforcing for hinge location.
Here is link to solid step for others.
