I am posting this here as the trailer is a Goose Neck but if the Moderator thinks it belongs elsewhere please move.

A couple of friends of mine actually met the designer of this rig and I thought it was worth sharing.

A hoverbike might be more fun.

Being that heavy the trailer would need brakes. Probably Hydraulic due to elec and water not mixing well. I wonder how long those who hold up after a few dunks.

Probably doesn't know how to set the date on the camera!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Either way it is a cool concept and might have interested me at one point when I was younger. Now I have enough to do full timing!

Full timing isn't "always camping". It's a different life style living in an RV.

Was camping in New York state along Lake Erie and seen this boat a couple of sites away. I thought it was just left in that spot when I took a closer look and was suprised that it had all the hook ups! Don't remember if it was the same brand but I thought it was neat idea!

Not for me though, I think you can really only have one big hobby/love. I had to choose at one point between my pontoon or rving. Not enough money and/or time to devout to both. IMO, we now Fulltime.

Would be tempting if I could rent a motorized barge. Roll the trailer on at the ramp and instant house boat. Then just unload and roll home with the trailer. Have to be lower cost than renting a full on house boat.

^^^^ too bad it died out instead of improved.

Sometime ago folks that frequented the Sacramento river delta could rent a barge and back their travel trailer onto it.

A friend of mine tried it and we met up with him down toward Walnut Grove with our boat.
It was fun, yet the trailer seemed a bit unsteady and rocked a lot when the wind blew. We all thought it wouldn't take much to dump the whole thing over.
Stuff in the trailer was always rolling around and falling down.
The barge idea died off after a year or two.

Not really impressed.

Why?

Heavy, 12250 lbs with trailer

Thin walled .125"

Not insulated

Not much storage space

Ugly (to me)

Probably, but not sure, expensive.

Really made for water use.
