I have been seeing a lot of 5er owners using Sailun Tires.

Has there been any discussion on this tire. Normally on this board and something as volatile as tires would have 2 or 300 pages unless I missed it. any info would help.

Thanks bbt
I'll NEVER be an "EXPERT" (In math.X is an unknown factor and a "SPURT" is just a drip - under pressure)

Just out of curiosity, I searched for my size, 205 R75 15, with no luck. Maybe I don't know how to look, or they do not make "baby" tires.

Just put on 4 S637s in the 17.5" size. Only 700 miles, so too early to see how they do.
They are available on eBay at $175ea shipped in lower 48. If they last 2 years and no blowouts, will be way ahead. If not, lesson learned.
Got 4 years out of Michelins, tread separations; 3 years out of Cooper RM160s, (chinese)including AK trip, wore badly from mis-alignment, my fault.

I have a set of 4 Sailuns S637. They have been on the fiver for 2 years without any issues.
These are very heavy duty solid LT tires. They are also reasonably priced.

I have never heard of that brand of tire--so--if you had a blow out and needed to replace the tire and you were in the Arizona desert or Fort St. John, B.C.--etc.-- who would you call? That is why I have always stuck with the top name brands. My camper came with "Triangle" tires from the factory--I had never heard of them and nobody else had either--gave them to Salvation Army and put on Goodyear Wranglers which now have about 30,000 miles on them. I had new Goodyear Wrangler tires on my toad (Jeep Wrangler) when I left Alaska going south. Had a tread separation problem in northern Canada. Put the spare on and saved the bad tire for a spare since it was still holding air. Probably tried 20 places to find one as we were going south. No one had them though they could all order them. Finally found them when be got all the way down to Kelowna.

Dang Bill, and we've even HEARD of the Goodyear Wrangler tires....:B

Nodwell RN110 out moose hunting. 4-53 Detroit, Clark 5 spd, 40" wide tracks, 10:00x20 tires, 16,000# capacity, 22,000# weight. You know the mud is getting deep when it's coming in the doors.

Great reviews compared to Goodyear. Sailun is my next tire.

The only downside I can see for these tires, and I not only researched them but actually bought a set of 5) is that they have very tall (and very stiff BTW) side walls.

I found this out the hard way after I totally failed to do my due diligence when I converted my last trailer from 15" wheels to 16" wheels and purchased these Sailun tires. I ended up having to return the Sailuns for another LT tire with much shorter side wall.

On my last trailer the difference was almost 1 1/2" and that cut my space between the top of the tire to the floor of the trailer from a safe 3" to an unsafe 1 1/2".

My new trailer has a more compatible sized OEM tire so I don't expect an issue, the Sailun will only be 1/2" taller, but still a consideration for those considering the Sailuns. These tires are very, very stout!

Very good, heavy weight tire that performs well.

Thanks Rob for putting me onto the S637's a couple of years ago.

They have served us well, no problems, in our travels and recommend highly for those close to upgrading.

Appears quite a few have heard of Sailun tires and understand that unlike a lot of other China made tires, these tires actually seem to be getting great reviews, going back several years...Hope the price stays competitive....As long as they maintain a TS16969 certification, I will continue to follow their progress and include them in my extremely short list for G rated tires for my 5er..(at this time, only 2, The Sailun and the GY G614's)

As said get yourself educated on the Sailun tire. They are becoming more ,and more popular as time goes on. They are available online with very fast shipping . Also I called Big O tires here in Utah ,and they carry them in stock at their warehouse locally, can have them same day if wanted.
