Going to take our new to us 5th wheel on its' maiden voyage. Heading to Florida in January!

My question is: Is there a less stressful and better interstate to get there other than I-95? :@

Will be headed that way in Feb, 84 - 87 - 287 - 78 - 81 - 77, You could also bypass CT and go out 90 (Ma. Pike) to 87, Hartford and Danbury are a mess anywhere near rush hour but you'll get stuck with the tolls. Leaving from Springfield MA, we'll try and make Martinsburg WV for the 1st night and Rock Hill SC for the next. Via 84 or 90 will depend on the time of day we head out.

Another vote for 84, 81, 77, 26, 95.

That is (sort of) the way we came back to Orlando from the Maritimes last summer.

Given the possibility of bad weather I would stick to the Interstates and carefully watch the weather forecasts at least till you get to I-26. That time of year you may have to wait for the plows for a couple of days, particularly on 81 and 77.

Assuming NH to Fla and even though it's 100 miles further than 95 most of the way, I'd use 81 to 77/26 to 95 in SC. This gets you around the big cities and some tolls.

It's also more scenic. We took that route when traveling to the NYC area, and it was much nicer. 95 from SC into Florida isn't bad.

I totally agree.. have done straight 95 and this alternate route from NH of 84, 81, 77 and 26 back to 95 in SC is much more scenic and less congested by missing Philly, Baltimore and the dreaded Washington DC beltway!
We've done a lot of this except for 84. Worst is Charlotte; that's as bad as other Big cities.

Yep, best route. From NH take I-84 west to I-81 south.
You can overnight at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Wilkes-Barre PA. Enjoy your trip.

From RI to Points south, especially VA south, I like to take 78 to 81. Then, if I am going to VA (Kings Dominion), I would cross over on RT 17 to Fredericksburg. For me to get there, it is 95 to 287. For you, maybe 84 would be easiest to get there???

I've been on that road from NC to Florida a bunch of times and I don't think it's particularly stressful as far as interstates go. Now I can imagine further north it could be a lot more stressful through the more populated areas. You could cut over to 81 up north and then cut back to 95 once you get south of DC - there aren't any real big metro areas you have to deal with until Jacksonville, which is pretty easy to navigate around on the beltline freeway that circles around the city.

that would not be US1/US301 for sure hehe... Other folks like to take US17 for a more scenic view...

Alot of the truckers like to use I81 but it ends in TN at 140...

I would take I95 and use the bypass around the major towns along the way...
