Suggestions on making homemade outside patio shade cover

We park our fifth wheel in Parker AZ for 5 months in the summer. Since we have a cement pad we wanted to put a large patio cover/carport next to the rig. We have seen some in the past that looked homemade, but were structurally excellent and not bad looking. They looked to be make with pipe and some kind of mesh for shade.

In the perfect world we would like to have the patio cover shade next to the fifth wheel and if possible come up and just over the top of the fifth wheel to help shade it a bit from the heat, but that may or may not be feasible.

Anyone make their own patio shade area that can be taken down, stored and put back up every year? We have about 10'wide by 20'+ long we would like to shade next to the fifth wheel. The one we saw, but is no longer there was about 8' tall on the far edge and then sloped up to the top of the RV and was free standing. Wish we would have taken a closer look at it.

Walmart has some cheap ones that size, but we want something more structurally sound. The one they have has a peak in the middle and drop down on each side which would not work for the doors to open since they are too tall.

Lowes also carries very tight weave, very dark fiberglass privacy screen. It's also designed to be much more durable than regular window screens.

It would be great to fabricate into meeting your needs as noted above.

If you find the structure I can supply the shade cloth. I manufacture greenhouses and sometimes supply shade cloth to my greenhouse customers. It is a 50% shade that is 12' wide and knitted so it won't unravel. I plan on taking a 35' length to Q this fall and just throwing it over the MH with a couple of ropes, it weighs about 10 pounds. It works on greenhouses why not RV's? PM if you are interested. My cost plus shipping. no profit motive here

We had a patio cover that was shaded with shade fabric purchased at Lowe's. I sewed panels that we put grommets in. We purchased rope to loop through the grommets and eyebolts were installed on the wood beams. Something like that could be built for your rv. It was an easy project, you don't have to be a seamstress to make the panel. I reinforced the fabric with other strips of fabric where the grommets were going to go. We took it down in the winter for more light. I don't have a picture. I have seen something like it in a Sky Mall catalog, think they call them shade sails.

From there you can make what ever size you need . They sell all the tarps and hardware you need. Go to the Indian hardware store in Parker to order the pipe.
I made a 30' x 10' for my trailer. I stay at River Lodge on the California side rill be there the end on October if you want to see it.

Costco often times has 10x20' "carports", made from PVC and a coated woven poly material. I =ass=ume they can be disassembled, but have never looked at them all that closely. They might (as might Sam's Club) have something as an on-line-only deal, too.

We are going to make a new cover for our Gazeebo. We are buying outdoor fabric that is used for shade. It comes 60"wide so you only need to sew a few widths together and buy the length. We are making the frame from wood, however our friends used steel not plastic conduit. Both our friends and ours will be on a cement base.

We were in Quartzsite last winter and saw quite a few. One of the permanent vendors there (The Gambler?) had the components for one. The ones we saw did have pipes and sun screen mesh. DH is going to make one....and would use ratchet straps to tie them down. Wish I could be more help!

There are any number of these metal carport buildings you should be able to find that have the roof and all sides open. Some are pretty neat...
