Switching tow vehicles

Hey everyone. Quick question for those in the know. I’ve seen the light and just purchased a new Ford Super Duty replacing my 1/2 ton tow vehicle. I have a Pull-rite 3100. The new truck came with a 5th wheel prep package. Can I just swap the pull-rite into the Ford then take it to be inspected or is it more in depth? Thanks!

Just a suggestion...Make sure your new hitch is enough to handle whatever trailer you have. Something that happens though with a better TV is the sudden urge to upgrade you trailer to a larger one, so you might want a hitch that can handle a larger trailer, just in case. Enjoy the new truck!

I just bought a new F250 and sold a 2014 Ram with the B&W ram hitch. I sold the B&W for over half what I paid for it and bought a 20k B&W to fit the F250 and very happy. I’m a big B&W fan of their 5th wheel hitches.

You don't need the pucks. Just buy a gooseneck ball, drop in the hole, put the Andersen, or PullRite 2600, on that.

I have an Andersen in my truck right now, so they do indeed make a hitch that fits.

Andersen does not make a hitch to fit your puck system. You need to sell your Pullrite hitch, and purchase a B&W 3300, that will be a perfect fit to your pucks. You have a great NEW TRUCK, get the best hitch for it, that is designed to drop right in.

Why would it need to be inspected?
Congrats on the new truck.

I called Andersen yesterday and they said no rack is needed as well.

If I had the factory pucks I'd probably get an adapter and then drop the rail mount Andersen on top of that. I think the Andersen style works better than a traditional hitch, it's a great value and it's super easy to install and remove.

Thanks for the suggestion. I however do not want a stationary hitch.

I called pullrite, that hitch is designed only for a 1/2 ton. Time for an Anderson!
