Toy Hauler for Giant Scale Model Airplanes?

I recently sold my bumper pull TT and bought a slide-in TC so I could pull my large model airplanes behind in their 12' Interstate cargo trailer. I looked for a toy hauler that would suit my living and hauling needs, but I could never find the perfect setup.

Does anyone here use their toy hauler to transport their model airplanes? If so, I'd like to see your setup.

I will post some pictures of mine when I get a chance to load everything up and head out to my first fly-in!

Thanks for the tip! When I was seriously considering a toy hauler, I was thinking of getting one with the couches/bed that raises and lowers, and converting the bed to an airplane shelf.

After my first outing with the TC and airplane trailer, I think I have nailed the perfect combo for my needs! I am thinking about upgrading the airplane trailer to a 7' X 14' model and configuring it slightly different.

Depending how big you want to go, I can't see going wrong with most of the modern toy haulers. I'm partial to the Grand Design Momentum line. Self contained gas genny for power and 11'-12' garages.

You could even take out one, or both, of the couches in the back for your plane racks. Craft them so you could remove / add the couches back if necessary.

I completely forgot about that. That was the craziest story ever. He located his truck and trailer using Google satellite images and was able to lead the cops right to them.

I met him briefly at an RV show at the Pomona Fairground. Good looking guy...taller sturdier version of Randy Newman. The woman he was with (post divorce) was a knockout, so he appeared to have landed on his feet.

I'm trying to recall the details of how he departed here. I don't think it was a warm departure. I could be wrong, but I think he was one of the members who showed themselves the door after the dreaded "Mercedes ML as Tow Vehicle" prank many years ago. There were a couple of people who didn't get the prank and there were many hard feelings (no more pranks!). It was a shame. He was a good guy.

Anyway, yes, you're absolutely right with the story of his wife stealing his rig. Brrr. Cold stuff.

Loved the Cub! First aircraft I ever flew in. The Harvard was the first experience with aerobatics.
There is the occasional thread that is just plain fun, no grousing, whining and carping.

There is a group called LA Giants out at the fly field at Balboa flood control basin in the San Fernando valley that do several expos a year. These aircraft are no toys to be sure. There is one coming up if you want to take a drive up for the day.
