Howdy all I've had my Fifthwheel Camper now almost a year used it about 6 time's at the local lake's. I've been wanting to take it alittle farther then 40 mile's away to say Piegion Forge(250mile's). My family has always gone every year and stayed up in the mountain's in a cabin but, the price's are insane now a 3 bedroom 1 bath cabin 3 year's ago cost us about $300 for the week the same room today goes for well over $1000+ for a week and thats during the off season... So I belive it's time we started to spend that money on my 5er and just stay in it.

So what I'm wanting to do is to loose a few Pound's in the Camper.
Since it's probaly only gonna be me+/-2 more people I plan on removing the really heavy Fold out Couach/Bed and replace with a small Recliner,Remove The Table and 4 chair's, Remove The huge Recliner Replace with a Rocker with foot stool, The massive 32in TV for a 32in lightweight flat screen, the 27in massive Tv for a 19in lightweight Flat screen, Don't need the washer and dryer set(Alway's have one were we stay any way's. But that's kinda the way i'm going any other idea's or ways to cut weight?

It's not that I have any trouble towing it or stoping it at all just why carry more weight that i don't need. And i'm aware that i'm over my GCVW according to the number's when the camper is at GCWR. I made sure to check with my Friend who is a Kentucky DOT officer when i was choosing to buy it with all these number's and was givin the all clear and if i did have trouble he would fix it up no problem if it occured

Just go with it. You won't notice much if any difference with a few hundred pounds less weight.

Check out PIne Mtn RV Park in Pigeon FOrge. It's a block off the parkway and behind a knoll so you don't get all the noise. It has an indoor pool, lazy river pool, outdoor pool and a huge hot tub. Sites on the creek are great. It's only about 6-7 years old, so the vegetation is still not HUGE.

Still not sure what you are asking considering the conflicting comments, but it sorta seems like you are asking how we would remodel your fiver, and maybe lose some weight while we are at it. So I would suggest that you don't need to do anything to the fiver, and don't worry about the weight. A 250 mile trips probably seems like a lot since you normally stay closer to home, but the reality is that it is a very short little jaunt. Just downshift when needed and let that Cummins do its job. It will be fine. Now, how you want to redecorate the interior is completely up to you, but I would suggest you ask the missus about that.

You don't need to loose weight in the 5er, you just need to put a chip on the Cummins, it will help the other improvement you have made really work!! Maybe some slightly larger sticks also.
The SB DD clutch will hold just about anything you can get out of the Cummins.

You might also think about putting an Exhaust brake on that rig.

Thanks for the info One day I hope to buy a Smarty tuner, a set of RV275 stick's and get a Pacbrake Exhaust brake like my old Mega cab had they are amazing for sure thanks all for the help thus far

Since you have the option of traveling with yourself +/- 2 people, I would choose the -2 people option which should reduce your payload by about 300-400 lbs, depending upon how robust the 2 people are.

Yeah the plus 2 is my parent's when they can go and if they do they drive there Maza 3 Waggon and we put all the food, drinks, Ice, 6 gal of fresh water and other stuff just to keep that extra weight out of the camper and avoid falling out in the floor just to be safe.

My apoligie's I could have worded that better it's not that i want to lower the weight (which would be nice cause i won't BS you and say it pulls it no sweat because it is a heavy trailer). But i meant what way's can i upgrade the trailer to make it more to my likeing and also loose some uneeded stuff. Such as on our 33' Travel star camper we never used the bunk beds's so we removed them and made some really nice top and bottom storage place's along the back wall and opened up that whole section for other thing's. Or we removed one of the Kitchen bench's and table cause we eat outside or on the couach and just put a wall mounted "Pop up" mini table for the other bench. Stuff like that sorry about that.
