Water Leak

So we have developed a water leak. Ever since we got to this RV park one thing after another has gone wrong. We had our hot water heater repaired the other day so I was looking under the belly to make sure everything was still good. I noticed a wet spot and it was fresh. So I went and turned the bathroom sink on and looked again. There's a drip coming down from the hole where the pipes feed through. I looked under the kitchen and bathroom sink and its dry. So I'm thinking it has to be coming from behind the shower. How do you get behind the shower to look without tearong it out? I cannot find any access doors or panels.

If it is a water line it will leak all of the time. A drain line will leak only when using the water.

I had a leak from behind the shower and there aint any access panels on my Laredo.

Discovered that if you take the screws out of the front of the faucet assy, it pulls out to the inside of the shower. if you have that kind of assy, you will have to run a bead of silicon across the top and down the sides.

love those loose connections from the factory. :S

But i doubt from your description, yours is not the shower assy.

We have a 2013 Bighorn and had a leak in the shower. Took it in for repair and the water had collected in the under belly soaking the insulation. had to be replaced. the problem was the water line connection to the shower. there is a round plate opening under the faucets to access lines.

I carry two pressure regulators just in case one fails. I stayed in a rv park in Texas this summer that had 150psi water pressure, and the owner sold a lot of regulators. It might take a day or two, but this kind of pressure will destroy an rv's water line connections.

Maybe your condensate line from the reefer, could it be that

If it only leaks when running the bathroom sink it has to be on a drain line or the faucet itself after the on off valve. If it was on a supply line it would leak more with the faucet off as that is when the pressure is highest.

I am just wondering. Had you recently dumped and flushed the black tank when you noticed the leak? Keystone loves to place the anti-siphon valve for the black tank flusher behind the shower. There will some provision for access, be it removing the shower valves or installing an access panel (not necessarily close to the anti-siphon valve).

Just because you don't have the valve open all the way, doesn't mean that the pressure won't equalize in the whole system; it just cuts down on the volume. Run to Wallyworld and get an in-line regulator before you blow something badly. Even a cheap one is better than nothing.

Try running on the pump and see if the leak stops. Keep running on the pump if so.

Do you have a water pressure regulator? Some RV parks have very high water pressure. If your plumbing is PEX it could be a fitting. I didn't use the regulator at a short overnight stop and had a leak the next day. Turned out to be a fitting behind the convenience center. Which is in the area of the bathroom in out Montana 5er.

No it doesn't smell or have a color to it. Just clear cold water.

I had the same problem and it turned out to be a broken black tank.

If the water smells that is the probable problem. IMHO

If your sure it's a line leak - remove the fridge to get access. The fridge isn't that hard to remove - lots of threads on that subject.

;)Yeah the knobs and faucet have a little panel that will come off. That's what I was afraid of if its a line leaking. Might just cut a bigger hole and let it drip into a bucket lol
