That's a bummer but lots of folks have many hours on those 5500 with out issues. Many issues are installer/owner induced. Like anything mechanical some have issue, do some research on your codes might be real easy fix. Know your enemy as they say...

Was a nice day today so I went up on the roof and inspected it, found a few cracks in the lap sealant on the front trim so I resealed it. Fired up the fridge furnace and let things run for a while.
I bought an Xantrex 1000w inverter last week so I also spent about an hour deciding where I am going to mount it. Dug through my garage and amazingly enough I had pretty much everything I need for the install except a length of shielded wire to run from the inverter to the power transfer switch. I'll post some pic's of the install once it is all hooked up...

Do you have pictures of this? Sounds like a great idea I may need to do!

I figured when they ship a pallet batteries, they are stacked 2-4 high, so no worries.

Yep, sit right on top. I have been putting stuff on top of them for the past year and a half with no indication of case deforming. Just now may something wont short the cables in transit?

The cases are pretty thick.

Nice shelves over the batteries, but do they actually sit on the batteries? Seems like a lot of weight with the water bottles there.

Almost forgot the shelf I built for the satellite box below in the A/V cabinet. Now I can leave it there while in transit:

I have to add to my post above Black Tank Rinse. The Tornado kit comes with a one way anti siphon valve. I was going to use the anti siphon on the end of the water hose when flusing the black tank.
But then I decided if I have black tank fluid coming back into the plumbing I want to prevent it as soon as possible. So, I added the valve right at the tank. This pushed me out about 1 1/2 inches so I had to add to the PVC.

It's the black part between the brass fitting and PVC

Changed my twin 12v deep cycle batteries for two Trojan T-105 6v units. Was a bit of work since the battery trays were rivited in place and the new batteries are too tall to drop in. So I had to remove the rivets, put the batteries in the trays, slide the trays into the battery compartment, then bolt the trays down. But once completed it looks good and I am way better prepared for boondocking.

Nice job with the PVC, Doug.

You're right about the kit. There's much to be desired.
I'll be installing 2 Quickie-Flush tanks rinse kits soon and will be using PVC.
