What portable Air Compressor to buy?

I need Santa to bring me a new portable air compressor to maintain my Fiver tire pressures. Any suggestions. It must be a portable unit.

Yep I didnt use to carry a compressor either until I had a low time and borrowed one and it didnt work for ****. I now have my own. Use it for all kinds of things including bicycle tires for me and anyone else in the camp ground who need it. Needed it one time coming out of St Louis, TPMS showed a low tire guess I had a slow leak so I pulled over started the gen and aired up the tire and it was good to the closest tire store to get it fixed

If this is just for tire and misc air pressure look at Lowe's Kobalt Air Inf-later. $45 and goes to 125 PSI.

Is this experience or opinion? I buy tools from harbor freight all the time. I have bought one of their cheap compressors and used the dog out of it. Probably a lot more than the average person would in a life time. It did fail after about 5 years but I was very happy with it. I bought a DeWalt twin tank and it failed after about 6 months. Had to send it to an authorized repair facility in Florida to get repaired. Six weeks later, I got it back. Not trying to knock DeWalt but just saying I have had name brand products fail too.

I get a lot of peoples "opinions" from work but very few has ever tried their tools. In my experience, the rare times I have bought something that didn't perform to my liking they either replaced the item or refunded my money without any problems.

From my experience, harbor freight tools has performed as expected or better than name brand tools I have bought in the past. They just cost less.

This x100 I have 6 HP tires on my F450 dually (110 psi) and 4 (110 psi) tires on my fiver. This is a serious compressor and will easily make tire inflation/maintenance a breeze. Small, complete, and operates on 12v.

I couldn't remember if I posted....STAY AWAY from harbor freight. The pancake compressors that they sell aren't worth their weight in scrap. Go with the porter cable pancake and you will be fine

Fini 1.2-Gallon Portable Electric Hot Dog Air Compressor, sold at Lowes. It requires 120 volts, but has lots of power, is small and light. Cost is $117.

a couple of pounds here and there doesn't bother me.

Try riding your bicycle, then let a couple of #'s out of the tires and ride again... your automotive motor notice's the same difference as your legs will. Ask any race car driver if a couple of pounds make a difference. MPG & tire life are greatly affected by pressure.

Check all tires 5W & TV every time the 5W is to be towed. Find a low tire drive around town looking for air. Flat pull down the spare - when is the last time you checked it, couple years ago and now it's flat.
I can also use to blow dirt, winterize, fill pool toys, kids bike tires (my kids have kids of their own) and many other uses. Boy scouts, be prepared. Or, look for some one that has a compressor, call road service

I suggest the Harbor Freight pancake style. About $40 with a coupon. I bought it just to stash in the fiver, but since then I've found it very handy around the house. Lots of times when it is easier to pull that out than to pull hose from the big garage compressor.

I don't know about many of them, but I wouldn't store mine where it would be exposed to the elements.
