Why only one bed in a fifth wheel and why sooo tall?

I see that everyone loves fifth wheels but I have some reservations about them compared to TT and Class C and A.
Why is it that the majority of them only have one bed? It's huge, so why not put another bed in it somewhere?

Also, have fifth wheels gotten taller in the last 6 years? It sure seems so! I walked into one and it was like a double decker bus! Why the added height? Seems like a waste of space for the ceiling to be soooo tall.
I do understand that they are easier to pull than a TT but for 35 feet of space and only sleep 2 to 4 people maybe seems odd. But maybe thats just me.

Our 38' fifth wheel is known as a glamper or couples coach. Designed for 2 people to travel and have extended stays in comfort! Our 80" rear sofa makes a nice queen bed but don't tell anyone. LOL

Because at 50+ years old we like 2 leather recliners to relax in while looking out the rear living room window and a residential mattress to sleep on at night to rest old bones. To have room to use the relief facilities and a stand up full size shower. 5th wheel trailers look high but when parked next to most DP motorhomes are the same height with a maximum of 13'6" as per DOT North American standards. Because we love company visiting on lawn furniture outside in the nicest places for the season.

Our 5th wheel will sleep 11 easy and we have 2 bathrooms. 2 in the master bd room 2 on hide a bed 2 on kitchen table,2nd bd room 2 on the bottom bed and 1 on the top bunk and 2 on the floor on air matress. and its tall with a ceiling fan which is nice in the summer. We also have a TT at the lake it is small but will sleep 8 but it is tight with the 4 of us.

I love the ceiling height in our 5er. I don't feel cramped like we did in our travel trailer, when we would look inside motorhomes. I also feel like we have more inside storage with taller kitchen cabinets and pantry. Just my opinion.

Sele,, I actually like the toy hauler plans with the drop down bed in it. I dont have a toy but I could fill it with furniture for another room. 🙂

Our fifth wheel has one queen, a couch that makes into a twin bed, and our dining room seats can be made into a full size bed when the table top is used as base. The queen is for the two of us and the other two are used for grandkids. We also carry a twin size air bed for if/when we are crazy enough to bring more than 2 grandkids at the same time. We have been on the road for 7 weeks but last we checked there are 7 of them! 🙂

Because, we dont want to bring the kids/grandkids along........

Actually, our 24 footer will sleep 6 in a pinch. Sofa and dinette become beds. Also, ours isnt that tall, so it still gets fairly decent mileage due to less wind resistance

we consider ours a mobile vacation home with room to occasionally take the grandkids. But mainly it is just the wife and I. Her uncle had a f'ver that had a 1/2 bath and bunks in the rear. Their current one has a toy hauler plus a loft bed above the toy hauler space. I think they come in all different aranngements just like any other rv

They are taller because of their design. Makes the insides feel much bigger given the same space.

Class A's have the storage below which isn't as tall as a fifth but extends down the coach so having that cuts down on the ceiling height with the max vehicle height being the same for both.

If you want more than one bed there are plenty of floor plans from different manufacturers that have all sorts of bedroom combinations. I'd say if you have only seen one bed then you haven't looked hard or long.

Taller because the attachment point has to be over top of the trucks box, unlike a TT that hooks up to the back of the truck.
As for fewer beds, can't really answer that other than demand must show that is what most people want?
