weather

I'm not sure where to post this so I thought I would try here since full timers are more likely to be on the road looking for the best weather.(I know I'll be)

I am trying to make a go to list of places for the summer in Canada and the US....where temps are in the 70 to 80 deg range during the day.

I know that weather is variable everywhere but I would appreciate some suggestions on where to go in the dead of summer where the weather is generally in that range of temps.

thanks

A few years ago, one of my daughters e-mailed me a map that showed how one could stay in 70 weather, all year, by driving around the country. It might be worth googling to see if you can come up with it.

yes I have done that. thats how I can tolerate 7000 ft. but I have not been successful going higher so far. I wish I could because I would enjoy that.

i plan to work on it though. usually it takes me a least a month to acclimate to elevation.

WOW ! 10K feet ! I could NEVER handle THAT much elevation.... I get altitude sickness REALLY bad. One time went to a ski resort in Utah.... it was like 8K feet... I got SOO sick.... they drove me back down the mountain 4K ft and I was back to square on a few hours... but WOW was I sick. lol

I'm ok to drive thru mountain passes at a high altitude.... as long as I am not up there very long. I could never manage to stay up there... even overnight.

Best I can seem to get away with is about 7K ft.... after that.... I don't chance it.

but thanks for your post.

Closer to you would be the Show Low area of eastern Arizona.

You'll need to zero in on elevations of 6,000+ - preferably 8,000 to get consistent cooler temps. Humidity is a big factor - the drier west is much better. Also the western coastlines are fantastic. Those are the parameters we followed while full-timing.

thanks everyone for your advice. I will only be in the west unless I am going east in Canada for
some reason.

I like mountains.... the eastern part of the US has nothing I am interested in.
I like wide open spaces and minimal grass and trees if i have a choice.
I prefer rocks and dirt and spare mountainous terrain..... the deserts are my choice in the winter.

summer is the time i need to sort out before next year.

anyway... I appreciate the help.
thanks

Summers are 60-80 along the shores of Lake Michigan... more 60's than 80's... sometimes the jet stream stalls and we'll get soaked with 90-100 degree weather for a few days, but not that often.

Thanks for the info.... thats what I need to know. I was wondering if going north would do it. I can see elevation is key.
