When I had a knee replacement it was much easier to get in and out of our Liberty than a friend's Honda because the Liberty sits higher and I could just slide out. In the Honda it was really an effort to boast myself up and out.
Definitely different strokes..... 🙂
Good luck in the search.

Effy, how did the 2010 Jeep Liberty work out? Did it look as good in person as it did from the link?

Hey Mark, Thanks for asking. It shows well, definitely a contender. The only caveat is that DW thinks it will be too difficult for her Mother and the others she cares for to get in and out. Sitting down is easy enough, but pulling the legs up and over is cumbersome enough in the civic. It may be too problematic in the Jeep. Sigh. Is what it is, despite our loathing for the civic we may need to suck it up until things change enough to open our options back up. Wasn't really happy with the trade value of he civic either but I can fight that fight if I need. So more contemplating. Need to get MIL over there to see how it works for her but that's not easy. She's in a physical rehab facility (fell and broke a vertebrae 2 weeks ago) now with limited ability to take her out and tis dealership is 30 miles away...Obviously we have some serious constraints with our choice of vehicle. I really like the Jeep and DW does too. Planets aren't aligning as we had hoped however.
Thanks for the input everyone. It's definitely a winner. If we miss this one at least we have better narrowed our choices. This is not an easy time for us nor a decision.

I purchased my older son a 03 Liberty that I just sold last week. He had it for seven years and not one problem and he took it off road all over Ct. and were he went to school in Vt. He was also a snowboard instructor at Killington mountain so drove in some pretty nasty weather and road conditions. I also purchased my younger son a 2008 Liberty in 2010 it had 80,000 miles on it and was/ is in awesome shape I picked up the 08 for 13k. I have a Wrangler that I use just to plow with and for a toad. Actually all three have never been to the dealer or needed repair.
This is a pic of the 03 the day it left the house.
