Monaco has announced a new and innovative Dynasty for 2015 which will be unveiled at the Florida RV Supershow on January 14, 2014. If someone is going, I would like some input as to whether it is the same ole same ole or are they really doing something that'll knock our socks off....Maybe someone can post pictures....they only have released a sneak preview called "Return to Power" but nothing else...Dennis

Thanks for the replies...as I understand it 600HP Cummins will be standard.

I read the letter from Snell where he took a '14 Dynasty and has put in excess 6k miles on it so far. He found out the cabinets would hold snacks but not allow you to put a box of Cheerios upright. He fired off some letters to the engineers. It'll be interesting to see some of the changes.

I guess I'm different, but I happen to thing the 10 bag system is outstanding in ride and handling....Dennis

Dennis, I'm going to the show and will try and take some pics for you. I haven't been in a Monaco product since I sold my '05 Scepter in '06 so I really can't do any comparisons between the old and new. The new FL chassis sounds interesting. I wouldn't consider a Monaco unless they change the way they designed their windshields. I broke 5 in the 11 months I had the coach. Not one was due to leveling. They all broke driving down the road.

Bigger and better, maybe, knock your socks off innovative, I doubt it. Read the Return to Power letter, that may give you some kind of clue. If they had something wildly innovative, they would dangle a more descriptive carrot.

I have never really been a fan of Monaco and their ten air bag chassis. So this Freightliner chassis should be a much better ride then the stiff ten bag Roadmaster. My understanding is that Freightliner also now has the Comfort Drive which a lot of RVers really like.

Lot of people do not like a lot of glitz, but I am just the opposite. I like a coach that has plenty of glitz and quality.

So the new Dynasty should be a big hit with RVers.

Dennis, I, too, am curious about the new Dynasty but would be hesitant to purchase anything 'brand new' from any manufacturer. There will always be things that will need tweaking from a manufacturing standpoint.

I certainly do think that Monaco is on the right track with the new company. The reason why I say that I'm hesitant is that I still have nightmares about the brand new '81 Oldsmobile I bought with the new DIESEL GM engine. What a disaster.... so, I don't want to be the guinea pig for anything newly manufactured right off the drawing board. The scars run deep.:M

I think we will see a lot of improvements from ASV. The Freightliner ( AKA Roadmaster) that they are using will be similar to the one used in the American coach line. It will be better engineered than the Roadmaster. FL build a chassis to SAE standards whereas the Roadmaster was really not engineered. You will see things like : real wire harnesses that are labeled, wires printed with their function. color coded air lines and more. But I don't know if anything rides as well as the Dynasty Roadmaster with 10 air bags. I am sure they will share components with other ASV vehicles. So when a computer board quits it will be available as it wont be something unique to Monaco. Fleetwood has awesome tech support and I assume Monaco will as well. How much support they will provide for those of us with older units is unknown. No Freightliner chassis ever had those mickey mouse trailing arms that Monaco built. I was under our Bounder DP that is on a FL chassis. I cannot believe the heavy duty components on the chassis. This will be a good thing for those who are looking at entry level units.

I feel a lot better about Monaco now that they are in the hands of an established RV company. I always doubted Navistar's commitment to the business, and I didn't care for their house-brand engines, so when it was time to buy in 2012, I didn't even look at Monaco. But the next time I am in the market I will give them a good look. If they build the new Monaco's as well as they build the American Coach line, they will once again be a top contender.

As for the Roadmaster chassis, that is likely gone. The "new Roadmaster" chassis will probably be a tweaked Freightliner, which is not all bad. It will have IFS which Roadmaster did not, although it will likely lose the 8-10 air bags which many liked so much. I moved from an 8-airbag Roadmaster chassis (without tag) to a 6-airbag Spartan chassis(with tag) and I like it much better than my old Roadmaster. It rides better, turns better, and handles 95% as well, so I am very satisfied with it. I think the upper-end Freightliner chassis would also perform very well, so the lack of a "true" Roadmaster chassis would not deter me in the least.

What will be really interesting to find out is how the "new Roadmaster" aka modified Freightliner chassis will drive. Many of us bought Monaco/Holiday Rambler based solely on the back to back drive evaluations of Freightliner/Spartan vs the proprietary Roadmaster chassis. This could be the single biggest factor in retaining or losing the old guard customers.

I see the Tampa show took a big hit on show dates this year. Only 5 days, not like the old days when it ran for 10 days over 2 weekends.

Dennis: Why fool around just wire Mike Snell a $50,000 deposit and the first "new" Monaco will be yours! I expect it is going to have a huge list price. Lots of frills. The elevator coffee pot is dumb! Lots of glitz. Should be interesting.
