A note of gratatude to my RV.net friends

Over the past 8 years as a member of this forum there has been a wealth of information given to me and others that have saved my butt and wallet over and over again. I know the savings is in the thousands. Simply sharing the information and experience with one another keeps us from chasing too many rabbits down the hole and spending unnecessary money in the process. I have tried in these years to also give back but I must say I think I have received far more than I have given. All of us struggle time to time even have to wade through some of the unsavory and rude remarks that come our way when asking a civil question. This post is not to chastise and rather to send a warm thank you to all of you that have given your advise and help with much thought and help in many situations.
Kind regards to all who help here.

They already have something. If you click onto "My Forums" and then "Member Card" you can print one with the logo and your name with a few stats.

Thanks, I did not know that!

The problem with the "Member Card" is that it includes the current amount of post that one has posted to date. Well, that will constantly change. I don't know why they include the total amount of posts?

Anyway, an "offical" RV.net window decal for the rigs would be nice. Unfortunately, I wouldn't hold my breath. Better off just printing one out your own if you wanted to identify yourself as a forum member.

One way to make your own window decal would be to copy the logo into some sort software where you can edit and manipulate graphics. Then reverse (mirror) the image. Then print it out (reversed/mirrored) on clear film (sticky on one side). Then you'd have an RV.net window decal. Peel off the backing and stick the sticky side to the inside of a window, Looking in from the outside, the image will be correct.

Having said all of that, there's probably something illegal about doing that, or some sort of trade mark rule against doing that. Although, you wouldn't be making money on it. In fact, you would be giving RV.net free advertising. But, you know how those things go. Somehow, someway, someone would find something wrong with it.

I've been on here since 2001 and I can tell you I have also received a lot of great advice on here on a lot of different topics, not just motorhomes. There is a wealth of knowledge in the motorhome community. But the trick is to make sure you get correct advice. Sometimes those on here that think they know, often don't know. For example if you ask somebody where the best RV park is that's close to Disneyland at least two people are going to tell you they love Fort Wilderness. Only problem is Fort Wilderness is at Disneyworld, not Disneyland. People don't often give the bad advice on purpose they often are just mistaken or don't read the question carefully. And I include myself in that bunch too.

We are fortunate to have a few guys that are truely Professionals in the business who make time to offer advice. If I end up near them I would like to shake their hand and personally thank them. There are numerous times I have been doing this :h when they came to the rescue.:C

Well written and so true.

Over the years my wife has asked many times, "How did you know how to fix that?" Most of the time my reply is, "RVnet." The people here have saved my bacon more than once not to mention thousands of dollars.

As we converse over the Internet, we need to keep in mind a simple thought. Would you say to someone's face the things you say hiding behind a screen name? Civility is something that seems to be going by the wayside.
