You can buy a SpinTech 5" in and 5" out for $165.00. This muffler will not drone and may or may not be to loud for you but it will give you the best flow available and is not $1200.00. Their performance muffler when tested on a 410CI sprint car engine had no negative effect on HP or Torque.

I was very interested on the Aero muffler, but after asking the question in this forum I changed my mind. It included a special air filter and the muffler which they were selling at the FMCA rally in Indio, CA a couple of years back. It saved me around $1200.00

Actually all my coach needed was to change air filters from the original which was a Farr to a Racor. As soon as I changed filters my coach has a lot more power going up long steep grades. With the original Farr and the Wix later on the vacuum gauge would go right up like if the filters were plugged up even when new. With the Racor the vacuum gauge works perfect below the condemning line.

Yeh, but these don't sound as good even though they perform just as well.

We had one on out previous coach with a 425 hp C-12 but don't know if it did anything. Yep, it was loader outside though still quiet inside...at least until the Jake was engaged on high than it really rapped. That alone would be worth the cost.

Nor only is it a waste of $$ if your unit is a 2007 or later with a DPF you cannot just install a muffler!

Yep,
I installed the Aero 5050XL Stainless Steel straight through one about 2 years ago or so. What a waste of money. I know this coach pretty well and, it's power. It's an '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the C-7 330HP CAT. I knew what it did on certain grades and flat driving conditions. And, it rarely ever went beyond about 7.5 mpg.

After the install, in Quartzsite AZ at the big RV even there, I was hoping for a substantial increase in all areas. What a let down. All I got out of it was TOO MUCH NOISE. The gas mileage is still 7.0-7.5 depending on what we're doing at the time. The power, the same, on all grades etc. One of the "supposed" benefits of the install of that muffler was that, since it is a straight through design, the engine is supposed to "Spool up" quite a bit quicker at the lower rpms.

Well, if it "spools up" any quicker, you can't tell it by me. In my opinion, for what it's worth, don't waste your money. We hate the additional noise.

I don't think you'll see any earth shattering results from the Aero Turbine. I think in many instances, people only buy them when their OEM muffler goes bad. Aero happens to make replacements that easily fit stock applications.
