Just found out today that General RV has bought out ALL of the Fleetwood sales and warranty work. We just bought a 2015 Southwind from Camping World and now they can't fix the items on our brand new motorhome that are under warranty. We now have to take it to General RV for the warranty work. At this point we don't know if it is throughout the who Nation or just Florida.

Up here in Jacksonville, General RV is a huge Fleetwood/American dealer and pretty good at warranty work. Over all much bigger than Lazy Days.

Called Lazydays today to see if they were doing warranty work for Fleetwood. They said they are and had never heard of them not being allowed. We now think Camping World of Tampa is a perfect specimen of a stool sample.

Camping World called us today to come and pick up our motorhome. On our way we will stop into Lazydays to see if they can take it in for warranty work. IF NOT we will go on to General RV and will keep all posted as to what is happening.

This has nothing to do with General.

I heard from a good source Camping World had a tough time selling Fleetwoods and had so many issues with Fleetwood warranty that they made a deal to sell their motorhomes back to the manufacturer in a couple locations. Fleetwood could then place the motorhomes with dealers that want them, if there are any. General probably picked up a couple models (not the best sellers) in Florida that Lazy Days does not already carry.

I have had very good service from General RV in the 2 locations I purchased RVs from. That would be Wixom and Wayland. The big move for the Wixom location is about 1 mile total distance. The new building is on the site of the old Ford plant in Wixom where Lincoln's were built until a few yeas ago. The entire old buildings were razed and General RV has a flat level field to start with. I passed there a couple weeks ago and it is progressing nicely.

I have an idea that what has happened is Fleetwood has terminated their sales and service agreement with this Camping World location.

I would contact Fleetwood... from what I have read about CW this might not be a bad thing, also if you are close to the factory see if they will do any warranty work.

It almost sounds more like the local CW farmed out the warranty work to General RV rather than doing it themselves. Warranty work would tie up CW bays, preventing them from taking cash paying customers.

Just a guess, ... I couldn't find any reference material to back up a purchase.

I just checked the General RV Center website.

They only have stores in 5 states, including Florida.

Hopefully it's not a nationwide deal.

I live out West and never heard of General RV! Sounds like Fleetwood does not want to have two Fleetwood Dealerships in a close proximity!
