Electric grill

We are considering purchasing an electric grill as we want to get away from propane. What brand and model can you folks recommend?

Weber makes portable electric grill. If it is as good as my Weber 220 it will be the last one you need to buy.

the one I have was sold by grillers world and it has a 2 part Teflon gridle and a 2 part raised gridle, and a glass window in front. they are not around anymore but the basic unit is that aussie grill. mine was 250. from a vender at the old Harrisburg rv show.

I second the Aussie grill. I bought one for the house because it has a rotisserie and a friend has used one for many years. Now I am considering a table top one for the MH. It works just fine on a 15 amp circuit.

The heat control allows perfect consistency for the best medium rare steaks I have ever made. Grill marks on the outside and pink all the way through the inside, no gray meat. It does require flipping the filets three times every three minutes. Fresh Polish sausage smoked on the grill is great also.

I had an infrared stainless propane grill so I was used to being able to really heat things up... that being said, this electric has performed satisfactory. Last night I cooked lemon-garlic marinated chicken, had it on about medium for 7-8 minutes per side, then I cranked it up to high for a couple of minutes on each side to get a nice char and grill marks on the chicken. It's nice in that you have such variable setting capabilities. The convenience of just pluggin it in and not messing with propane or charcoal is great.

I've been using one about 12 years,and it has the largest cooking area for an electric grill , and it stores easily . also walmart online had them.

Otherwise the weber electric also gets great reviews.

There are basically two typs of electric grills.

one has a wire "Grill" top, like a charcoal grill, Usually you fill a pan (Below the "Burner" with water. These are used just like a propane grill outdoors.

The other is the George Foreman type, Which I prefer.

Take a look at the Traeger PTG model. I've got two Traeger grills, including the PTG for the MH, really like the best of both worlds.

Have you thought about one of the portable induction cooking tops? We use one in our coach and besides cooking food very fast, it releases very little heat inside the coach, which helps the AC during the hot months.

I've probably used it close to 100 times since we got it and have had no issues. It heats fine, has good temp control. It fits perfect into a tupperware type container and goes right into the storage compartment.

Any of the George Foreman models depending on how much surface area you need for cooking. Cooks both sides at the same time.
