We purchased our 2008 almost 2yrs ago and got an extended warranty and have had over $7k in repairs. 2 Slide toppers, air conditioner seal on 1 of the 3 air units and the major repair that took over a week to fix.. an EGR cooler. Nothing was covered by extended warranty through Good Sam and neither them or Coach-Net covered the time in a hotel with 2 dogs as their โwas no collisionโ.. just repairs and a week of
โdowntimeโ waiting for parts/repairs.
We have since took out a $30k line of credit for repairs and annual maintenance, if needed.
We just got 8 new Michelin Energy 2 395x80Rx22.5 tires at $900 a piece (no thanks to FMCA), as the major East Coast RV repair facility refused to deal with their discount for some reason.
Next up 10 new Koni FSD shocks at $165 a piece (me buying online) and another $1,200 to install.
My point is these things cost money to keep up with, but to us it is our home as we live in it full time and love every minute of it.
As a guy once asked me..Do those things appreciate? My reply.. I appreciate the hell out of mine..they are moneypits bud...

Sultan1966, we had the exact same color Dynasty coach but with the Diamond IV floorplan. Your picture brings back great memories!
You bought 10 tires? Why the extra two?
We purchased our '08 in April of '07 and drove it just shy of 70K in 7.5 yrs then selling it in 2014. When we bought, we were offered a bumper to bumper warranty for $8,000. I took the brochure home it seem to cover absolutely nothing, so I said no.
Over the 7.5 yrs, we didn't spend near that in repairs (not counting regular maintenance).
Safe travels!

Hi Doug...and thanks to all who have voiced their concerns. The contract is very exclusionary. Claims are easily denied esp if no satisfactory maintenance records are kept. Alot of reasons for denials. remember, insurance contracts are written for the benefit of the insurance company.
I also realize proper maintenance and related expense is in addition to the ESP.
I will self insure.
Now to read up on maintenance!

I know. What I was saying that I am not looking forward to replacing the tires at my own expense. They are truck tires--245 75R 22.5. I am not sure if i will self insure or go with US Warranty.
US Warranty is sending an inspector to the coach to check for driveability and pre-existing items. I will then know what needs to be fixed immediately before my drive back to Tulsa.(Take me back to Tulsa, I'm too young to marry...) The ESP is $800 per year for 5 years.

The carrier i am looking at is US Warranty. Apparantly they are large, but they do EXCLUDE alot from the coverage on older models like mine. I like the idea of self insuring...except for the tires!
