How do you deal with trash?

Do you have a trash can that you put... Where?

Do you hang a bag somewhere?

I thought I had it bad finding a place for a small can in our trailer.

Can't figure this one out and am hoping there might be a few good suggestions. We have a Roadtrek 170.

Plastic grocery bag hanging on the side door handle. Keep plenty on hand and throw away often. Try not to keep overnight trash that might attract bugs.

We keep ours in a pop up trash container that has a 42 gallon contractors bag in it, outside. Holds it all, tie it up, put in hauler. First thing that gets taken out when we get home. No spills, no mess.

Like many, I keep the trash in a small pail with a lid and use grocery bags. My pail is an old 4 litre that I used to buy my ice cream in. We quit when the kids left home. Yikes, that was 25 years ago. We're down to the last two pails and I won't be buying ice cream like that anymore. Storage is under the sink.

If you don't have a space in a cupboard, consider a small lidded pail so there won't be mishaps if you stop quickly.

Not for garbage, just extra storage, I tucked a medium sized pail along side the toilet. It has a lid and keeps things from rolling around.

We have a small plastic rectangular trash can from ikea 3 gallon FILUR -it snugs into the back of the driver's seat and pretty much stays in place...but yes we trip and kick it several times a day.

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40188340/

we have never had more than 3 days trash and like other we try to minimize waste starting with our shopping.
Paper type stuff is tinder for the fire, some organics too like coffee grounds. Crush cans small. keep dry and clean and you can separate your common recyclables.

this is where once again I commend Oregon State Parks -which will allow anyone to dump tanks, recycles and trash at no charge- they will take a donation for the dump if you want.

PPL Motorhomes sells a small plastic container that you line with plastic grocery bags, they're held in place with some clips on the sides of the container. They are a site that sells a lot of different RV supplies in addition to the regular RV consignment sales, located in Texas in Houston I believe.

I found that a 1 gal antifreeze jug with the top cut-off fits nicely under the sink in our B and can be lined with re-used plastic bags (from buying veggies). We empty the bag frequently (there are lots of opportunities in campgrounds, rest areas, service stations. etc.). Worked well for the last 10 years and you can't beat the cost.
Sounds interesting - won't fit under our sink but, maybe behind the driver's seat. Thanks!

This might be the answer - thanks!

Thanks, but... This is a photo of under my sink:

The fridge is on the right, and my absolutely only kitchen cupboard is on the left, and a bunch of that is used up by the water heater. 🙂

We use the Rack Sack.
It works well and goes on the inside of the door below the sink.

You can get the rack sack here: Link

But you can get replacement bags at Amazon and lots of other places:

Currently, I just use a small "wastebasket" sized plastic bag and put it in the sink. I had a small bin on the floor - but that wasn't real practical with the dogs.

I just ordered this bag holder

Won't have it for a while, but for $4, I figure it's worth a shot. If it doesn't fit a drawer/cupboard, then I'll macgyver a trim to hold it.

One thing I have learned is that the trash gets dumped daily. That reduces the space needed for it and keeps the dogs from getting into it, and so on.

In our small C, we use small rectangular bath-size garbage can from Wal-Mart. I stuck a Command hook on an exposed cabinet surface in a corner. The can sits on the floor and the hook holds the lip of the can such that it stays put going down the road. We use tiny trash bags, and have to empty it basically every day.
Currently RV-less but not done yet.
