Jet-sounding neighbour furnace

We had to move in the park due to long-term reservations and now have neighbour with good looking DP.
But his furnace is facing us directly and not only it gives jet-like sound, but comes very often.
I am kind of surprized that such noisy thing was installed on luxury DP in the first place, but is there a way to aproach the neighour about the issue?
Strange to use propane furnace when we have non-metered elecricity and we use electric heater with whispering noise.
I think there is also some malfunction in neighbour system as the furnace comes like 15-20 times per hr in 40-50F weather.
We plan to stay here another month, so shall we live with the noise hoping for warmer weather, or give the neighbour a gift with electric heater?

Just someone on a shake down voyage. Testing everything out to make sure it works. Probably sitting on the couch, in their underwear, with the thermostat set on 80 and the hot water running full out. LoL !!!

I have seen many coaches that their furnaces are quit loud, but there is nothing you can do without insulting a neighbor. Best thing is for the person that is getting bothered by the sound to move to another spot.

We use our Heat pumps on the front of the coach most of the time. We hardly ever use the one in the back, it would be over kill. But if the temperature drops below thirty degrees, the furnace will automatically switch from Heat Pump to furnace. Our furnace is the Suburban 42-Q which is big, but quiet.

Turn out the site had bad internet reception, so we request another site, killing 2 birds with 1 stone.
I took closer look at the rig and it is not DP, just nice gasser.
The rig still has dealer's plate on it. ... from Camping World
So this is just days old rig.

I wouldn't say anything to the neighbor - there's nothing he can do to make it more quiet. As far as the frequent cycling, if it is the furnace, he may have a high efficiency thermostat. They tend to cyle as you describe.

From your photo it is a standard rv furnace not a Aqua Hot for sure! Aqua hot will have a exhaust pipe like a car and is a common complaint as it runs to heat water in the summer when windows are open. and from the photo it appears to be a Gas Motor home ? (up-swept back is not typical of a Diesel pusher)but either way no high end hydronic heat.
Personally I would just walk over and mention noticing it cycling a lot and a strange noise (unlike your own furnace) and let them deal with it leaving it at that.By the way, If its cold enough to have the furnace on, your own windows should be closed,right? Even with single pane windows that should block most of the sound.That must be some noise if you can hear it that loud.

It should not be so noisy that it bothers you. There must be something that isn't quite right. If it is a furnace, it should not cycle on and off that often in that type of temperature unless he has the thermostat set on 80 or something.

I would not be offended - if someone else noticed something that doesn't quite seem right, I would rather them mention it to me so I could possibly avert a problem. If nothing is wrong, then great. It could also be someone who recently purchased the unit - new to rv's and doesn't realize there is something wrong with the way it is operating.

We sleep with a sound machine.
It drowns out most exterior sounds.

At about 40 degrees and down my furnace will cycle on and off often. It's not the limit switch, it completely cycles and shuts off and 5 or 6 minutes later it does another cycle. It's because the rig is so poorly insulated.

The furnace and water heater are both noisy. Depending on the position of other rigs I have been in places where I can easily hear them. Being that close and side by side with huge flat walls can only make it all worse. It's just part of the cheesy nature of rv's. Be happy the frig didn't catch fire.

That's a standard RV furnace. It's not an AquaHot system. And he probably has two of those!

I've been RVing for 30 years but in working days, our camping was in warm weather, mid-week when i could choose a site with distance neighbours.
When extending the stay to weekend, the overnight singing would bother us only a bit 😉
Now we started full-timing and this is adult RV park, so furnace comes as the noises thing around.
Attitude like yours is expected, that is why I started the topic.
I woul not mind even help the people in servicing the furnace, as I can see female person only walking her 120lb dog from there, but it is touchy subject.
Yesterday BTW had to service my refridgerator as last storm made another power outgage and propane failed to work.
After cleaning lot of leaves from "chimney" I found spider in the burner tube.

I, too, suspect an obstruction in the furnace burner tube, possibly mud dauber nests, maybe spider webs, or even just a pile of dead stink bugs. This is also likely the cause of the furnace coming on for just a minute before shutting off, only to come on again for just a minute a brief time later.

You would be doing him a favor to tell him you think there is a problem. If that burner tube is obstructed, it is also quite likely making carbon monoxide in prodigious amounts, which could kill him (or you). At the very least, it will be wasting a lot of propane by a burn cycle like that.

Last spring, the first time I fired up my TT's water heater, it sounded like a jet engine. It had always had a faint roar, but this was impressively loud. I went outside to investigate, and that's when I saw the big black carbon plume going up the side of the trailer. I shut the water heater off immediately and quickly determined that I had a burner tube full of dead stink bugs. Took all of a minute to clear them out, whence the water heater returned to normal operation. Took some serious scrubbing to clean the soot off the side of the trailer.

Wow, that must a loud furnace if you can hear it with your windows closed! What kind of coach is it? Would it have an Aqua Hot system? Our previous AH system just made a humming noise. I kept it in tip-top condition with very little fumes and it ran smoothly.

Our current system is called an Espar that is similar to the AH. Ours is an 83,000 btu unit and makes a little louder sound but would never bother the neighbors (in my opinion). But, we are using electric like you. It's getting down in the low 40's/ upper 30's here in Vegas.

I think I would mention the noise to your neighbor as they might not be aware there could be a problem.

Here is Florida, we get a lot of mud dauber nests on any opening on the RV. We are constantly cleaning them out. I did notice one time that the noise from our furnace was louder than normal and it was a mud dauber nest that was disrupting the air flow and created more noise.
I'm not sure how to approach the neighbor about this other than trying the direct approach and telling him you think there may be something wrong with his furnace.
