Motorhome Resort in New England Area

Looking for information for any upscale motorhome resorts in the New England area. Been looking on the internet and big rig books but have not found any yet. Has anyone stayed at one of these resort type campgrounds in this area?

Villages at Turning Stone is a fantastic RV Resort. It is located in Verona,NY about 30 miles east of Syracuse.It is part of the Turning Stone Resort Casino which is run by the Oneida Indian Nation.They have every amenity available and all on level paved, spacious sites.Good Sam rated 10/10/10.Turning Stone Resort Casino

I would vote for Wells Beach Campground. Excellent sites, very clean.

Normandy Farms is nice also. We stayed there once, don't recall any dirt sites.

Bayley's has a big rig section. Large sites. But yes as all the others are it is gravel. 4 pools, 2 stores and 2 restaurants. That's pretty impressive in New England. The owners are very friendly.

Kudos to you....I have NEVER met/talked/or seen anyone that avoided a fire due to proximity to neighbor! I have horrible allergies and smoke will put me under faster than anything. I can't tell you how many times I have tried to rationalize with a neighbor and/or campground owner, to no avail. My hat comes off to you!!

Vote 2 for Bailey's. It is a little pricy in the summer however and lots of kids, visits in June and after Labour Day are recommended.

High price, small sites with your neighbours sewer hook-up literally under your picnic table and the pull through site they gave us was so small we had to drive in but back out. Couldn't have a fire as our fire pit was within 8 feet of the next rig and I didn't want to chance a disaster. I rate Wells RV Resort as a solid "AVOID"

We always enjoyed Bayleys RV Resort in Scarboro Maine, neat Portland and Old Orchard Beach. It always seems to score well.

We just got back from 6 days at Normandy Farms and I have to agree. The place was mostly empty (off season) but still on dirt/gravel, and the interior roads were very very dusty. Couple that with no one even coming close to obeying the speed limit, we were covered with dust after a few days! Not a resort in my book either. But, it is close to all the things you want to see and it does have level, FHU sites.

might want to look at highland orchards koa in no. stonington ct. very nice heated pool big supply store,and full service shop.close to foxwoods casino and mohegan sun,about 10 miles from R.I. beaches right off rt 95.,also about 5 miles from mystic.ct.

We did the New England states this summer and we called there to get in. We were told that all they had available was DIRT. Not gravel, just dirt. Not a resort in my book if they put you on dirt. Now, they may have other sites that are nicer, if booked farther in advance, but we usually call 4-6 months ahead of time for summer travel.

You will find that the New England states are not really big rig friendly. Nothing like the west coast, etc. We did upstate New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and CT and not one park was really what we typically like.

For example, a "luxury resort" in CT was horribly dusty, unlevel sites, extremely rude staff, old and nasty bathrooms, non-existent Internet, unheated pool, etc. This was by far the norm, not the exception, for the entire summer.

Normandy Farms in Foxboro...usually makes the Top Ten in the country...popular weekends are booked 1 year in advance.
