We are looking to upgrade our 05 Mandalay. This was our first and only coach. We have owned for two years.

We thought it would be Newmar Air model. The problem is with slides in the have 15 inches of room. We travel with 5-11 people and its not enough room.

We did an RV show and it looks like all the large coach's are made for two people.

This is our must have list
Bath and half
42-45 feet
King bed
500 plus HP
side radiator
Girard awning

It will NOT be a fleetwood

Thanks for any help

Thanks for help. We don't all sleep in RV. Normaly 5-7 sleep Kids play collage sports. So they normally stay with there teams.

We tried the custum rout. But they can't change the size of the slides.

This appears to be the obvious solution. These tour buses are built to handle a large group and are frequently used by bands and entertainers. They don't have slideouts but they have sleeping quarters (bunks) with curtains, private lights and ventilation. They also have huge engines and can pull a heavy trailer.

Most tour buses are built on Prevost chassis, so they can get expensive, or at least more expensive than a top quality coach built for two people.

Fairway2002, sleeping 11 people might rather difficult.

We actually could carry 11 people seated in our coach. We have a pilot and co-pilot seat, two opposing sofa's (3 people each), and three can sit on the J-booth dinette. So, 11 people (no seat belts though).

So, if you find a coach with two sofa's in the living area, you can find enough seating.

Our two sofa's lay flat for sleeping (electrically)... and, very comfortable. I guess we could only sleep four people in our coach.

It is always fun looking for "the next coach" but when we really got serious about finding the next one it took us about 2 years for looking on line, going to RV shows and stopping at dealers just to see what was new. It is easy to find a lovely, shiny, well equipped motorhome, but it is hard to find the one that is just right for you and yours. We insisted on being able to sleep 4 adults and a few kids, for those times we take one of our children's family with us. I wanted side windows on both sides, so the grandkids could see the road as we traveled. When closed up on the road we wanted clear access to the toilet and frig. Many new coaches make it very difficult to maneuver toward the rear with the slides in...for us old people, difficult is impossible. So I total understand your quest for your new motorhome. I am sure in time you will find just what you want, and for sure you should not give in to what is on the lot just because it will be discounted.
Look at the Tiffin QBA, queen or king bed (we prefer the walk around room of the queen...besides I prefer sleeping close). Bunkbeds, a comfortable inflatable couch (our adult children sleep on it)the booth dinette sleeps two small children, and with the slides open there is enough room for a child or two on the floor.
Anyway, good luck on the quest, and Happy Trails.

enough room for all. Just Google and many use one out there or new.

Hi,

I'd add Murphy beds to that list. I can't imagine traveling with 11 souls, even in a 45 foot. You are BRAVE!

Question are you trying to sleep 11 people, or do you just travel with that many. Ie tail gate. How many do you normally sleep

You might consider a toy hauler. Use the extra space for sleeping room, not toys.

Most of the later model coaches will meet all your requirements but that many people will always be a challenge for any trip longer that a few days...but you already know that.

Tiffin makes a 45' that meets all your criteria except the Girard awnings and they might put those on if you order it that way.
Entegra also makes one with 600hp engine and has Girard awnings.

Most Class A units I have seen are designed primarily for 2 people.
Have you contacted a dealer/manufacturer about modifying the floor plan?
Custom built may be your only option for 5-11 people.
