I drilled a 5/8 hole about 1 inch from the open end of the receiver and ran a tap through it and then screwed a bolt into the hole. This puts pressure on the inserting receiver and removed any wiggle or noise. This was for my bike rack. When I needed to tow something heavier on another hitch, I welded a nut to the threaded hole so I had a bigger bite for the bolt and that was easy to do. A couple of tack welds and it was done. I carried a small crescent wrench to tighten or loosen the bold. No noise or wiggle when the bolt was tight.
