Looking to replace some RV furniture. We are in Scottsdale AZ for the winter. Besides Camping World in Mesa AZ, does anyone know of another business that does this?

Thanks,

Jeff

A good source is Villa International....great furniture but not the cheapest. The stuff in our Marquis came from them and are still like new 14 years later.

We have done a lot of changes over the years here is just one example that may help. Decided that the sofa was not comfortable to sleep on and when folded out you could not get to the door or around it...(jack knive was obviously called for here) very uncomfortable spring loaded mattress. so took it out and for years used an inexpensive futon bed that could stay made up with all linens and folded back to sofa for day time use in about 1 minute. Very comfie and full size Queen Bed good for naps as well......Decided oh lets try a flexsteel magic sleeper sofa they look soooo nice. Had a great RV furniture guy install at over $1,000.00 bucks Ultra leather and matching etc...and discovered was way to firm the foam was like a rock to me.and about 1/4 difference on each side. So being the creative problem solver I used folded blankets to first get both sides even, then bought a 4 inch foam covered pad. Since it was my bed each nite it stayed in the "made-up" down position all the time even on the road. The cushions were always in the way and I finally stored them underneath the coach. The four inch foam topper was huge even when rolled and secured with bungie cords so since the sofa would not fold back with all my "comfort" items it remained a huge day bed so to speak..wonderful for kids and grandkids but seriously wish I had not gone there. So for resale value yes the new sofa was just like new! but in my humble opinion I hate RV sofas for sleeping and for seating.

Yes, it's a wall hugger, but it does need to be out from the wall about an inch though.

After we got it inside the camper, I put 6 castor wheels on the bottom of the frame so we can move it around. We like to turn it cross wise in the living room, directly in front of the television on the back window. The slide is empty then giving nice passage.

I also put a couple floor hooks in the slide and use a ratchet type strap to secure it when traveling, so it won't roll around. Works very well for us.

I studied the couch out very carefully before purchasing to make sure it would go through the door. It had to go in, standing on it's end. 2 people outside lifting straight up and I was on the inside pulling straight up. Once the top end was I the door, the bottom could be pushed on up. Once inside, turned it 90 degrees and lowered it. It was a little tight, but the cushions on the arms had lots of give.

If we ever sell the camper, the couch is coming back out and the original furniture is going back in. Original furniture is in storage at our home right now. That couch is better than the one in our house.

You might try Mattress Warehouse in Yuma, Their selection of RV furniture (and mattresses, of course) is quite good. The products seem well built rather than cheap, and their prices are most reasonable.

I went to an upholstery shop and had them build a custom "L" shaped couch for our coach. It is big enough for two adults to stretch and has storage underneath. Since we have a big dog, the cushions are all removable to go in to the washer. The total cost was less than $1200. The huge plus is that it was custom designed to take advantage of every inch of space rather then a generic piece that came in a standard size. I also added outlets and cup holders as part of the design.

There is an RV salvage yard in phoenix that may have some quality stuff too. otherwise we have always bought regular furniture for our rigs. The RV stuff is always so cheaply made.

Depending upon the space you have, you might just consider normal house hold furniture. Although we have a TT, we removed the original rocker chairs, self-standing kitchen table, and 4 chairs and replaced with a real couch. We never used the table anyway! The back of the couch come off, making it possible to get it in the door. It just fit! The backs recline and the feet pop out, and it sits 3. And it quite comfortable sleeping on it! Got it at Value City Furniture near Indianapolis.

Think about real furniture instead of RV, unless your couch has plumbing or heating ducts running though it!

What furniture are you going to replace?
We have done this in the past and found what we were looking for at furniture outlets like Lazy Boy, (2 recliners) and did the switch out ourselves.
