Sad Times

I have spent many hours over the past few years reading and enjoying the various discussions on the forum. In 2006, we decided to buy our first RV at that time instead of waiting until we retired. It has turned out that it was the best decision we ever made. We had six years of happy RV trips, and since we retired a year ago have had an even more beautiful and happy year of travels and adventures in our RV. That was the best decision we ever made. I unexpectedly lost my beloved wife Lois last week. Enjoy your travels while you can and make the best of them. Life can go from happiness to despair in the blink of an eye.

I am so sorry. I bought my first RV in 01 after a friend died suddenly at work. I did not want regrets. You guys got to make great memories too. That is wonderful and i am sure that you will make different memories. I also understand about living life with no regrets. I am thankful i started when I did as well. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor a couple months ago. I will have some treatments soon. Who knows what the future holds, so go for it and travel. I will pray that you get peace and comfort thru this time.

I am sorry for your loss but pleased you were able to enjoy some wonderful times traveling in your RV. You might want to contact Skip of skipnchar in the future. He lost his beloved Charlotte a few years back and has continued on, frequently commenting on things here and RV's all around the country. He certainly has walked in your shoes.

God bless. It is a scary time in your life. Thoughts and prayers are headed your way.

We are new to the RV lifestyle. We are in our 40's, retired, and just took our first extended trip. We met a widower who just lost his wife about 6 weeks earlier. To make a long conversation short, he said he wanted to honor his late wife's dream, and continue the travels. He traded in his 40' for a 32', and hit the road. He says he has his moments, but is enjoying himself by meeting new people, and staying active. He has a great outlook, and is brave - much moreso than I would be given the same circumstances.

Thank you for sharing your pain and advice. I am sorry for your loss and rejoice in you and your wife's love of rving. As the string of condolescenses demostrate, campers are the best. Don't stay away long. Continue your journey. You will meet the best people.

Our hearts go out to you in this time of need. You will both be in our prayers tonight. It is a sad change in your life right now but don't let that cloud your thinking of what is still waiting for you in life and continuing RV'ing when you feel the time is right. In the mean time stay plugged in here. We all can benefit from your travels and seasoned advice.

We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned,
so as to have the life that is waiting for us.

So sorry for your lose. I feel for you as I lost my wife of 48+ years this last Feb 28th after her battle with the big C which was diagnosed July 1st, 2012. Gloria & I had bought our new to us HR Navigator July 2011 & was really enjoying our adventures in it, exploring the different FL state parks. So far I just can't bring myself to try it alone. After reading some of the post's, I hope to get passed this hang up that I have about not being able to handle the rig by myself. Best Wishes & Prayers are being sent your way. Carl

I hope and pray that I live long enough to care for my parents and my better half. Haven't thought much about being the one left behind, if that is what happens. So sorry for your loss and sending prayers and hugs your way.
