In motion is neat if you like to watc live TV going down the road. The parabolic dish is quite small under the dome and will not get the reception of full-size dishes. Same is true with cubes or carry out. I traveled with friend who had in-motion and my traveler. I got reception where he didn't to the extent he converted.

We have the in-motion that is not HD for DirecTV. I don't mind SD but the in-motion will supposedly do HD on DISH.

In-motion is awesome. Really awesome.

You can now get direct TV service on a monthly basis as you come and go in an RV. Call directv and ask for their RV section. Not sure how long they have had this but do know it is fairly new. Most Sam's shopping clubs I have been in recently also has a direct representative on the floor.

Never had any problems with the Automatic Kingdome. Push a button and it will find the satellite right away.

I used to have Dish, now I have Direct. Kingdome works with either. Reason why I changed to Direct was because of a sports station which I could not get with Dish, but I can get it with Direct.

Stationary at CG
And no preference between Dish or Direct

Stationary at only one GC or will you be moving from place to place? How often do you move and do you want the antenna to be fully automatic or are you willing to learn how to point and antenna? Will you be using the service year round or only a few months per year?
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

If you have DISH or DirecTV at your house, see if you can take it on the road.

If not, get DISH because you can sign up for Pay As You Go. You can't do this with DirecTV.

Unless you're full timing . . . then sign up for either service and get a Winegard Travler (about $1200 for DISH version & $1500 for DirecTV).

We have a winegard trav'ler, and dish service with a hopper up front and wireless joey in the bedroom.

The wireless joey is nice 'cause it doesn't mess with the coaches wiring, we can still bring park cable or over the air back there.

pplmotorhomes.com has the best price on the Trav'ler, under $1200, free shipping. Replacing the existing KVH dome with this was easy peasy.

I have a wingard roof mount and a carry out. It is easier to move the carry out than the MH if trees are problem.

Travler. But be aware if your parked in trees you may not get a signal.
