sliding doors in back of motor coach

we have a 2008 HR Neptune (38') and we have two sliders in the back of the coach (in the bedroom. Unfortunately they are mirrored glass sliders and aside from having to look at myself when I go to bed, my wife and I would like to find an alternative to these sliders. They are heavy (because they are glass) an they are a pain because they don't stay latched.

Has anyone come up with a retrofit to change out the sliders.

Would love to hear about creative alternatives.

Good Question! I'm going to be watching this post also! My door sliders in the rear (bedroom) are wood with a plastic band with snaps. And the plastic breaks a lot! I just put a pillow down when traveling and that's treating the symptom of the problem and not the cause!

The mirrors add visual space to the room. Temporarily cover them with dark sheets and see if the room changes shape and if you like it..

Did the same, got new latches from Monaco and all is good.

I used 2 pieces of 1/2" CPVC water pipe cut to fit at the bottom of each track to get them from sliding incase the latch doesn't hold them. I hope this helps if you decide to keep them, Bill

We have three pocket doors--two of them with mirrors. As long as we remember to close the latch, we have not had any problems with them. But the mechanisms are heavy-duty.

I was going to suggest getting a piece of wood, and place it inside, at the base of the inner door, so that it wouldn't slide, then another piece of wood on the floor to keep the outer door from moving. New latches would probably work as well.:)

I would probabl go with curtains (unless those doors are a standard size at HD or Lowes, where you can probably get a hollow foam door that would be much lighter than a mirror covered door.
Of course, you'll lose all that extra room you get from the mirrors:B

I have those sliders also and one doesn't like to stay shut so I just drilled a hole low on the door way into the frame and put a Pin in to hold it shut. I know, God forbid, I drilled a hole! :B

Can you not remove the glass? Are they ugly without them? I personally like the two sliding doors around our bedroom.
