We put pennies with our birth years, for us and each of our kids under the windowsills of the house we built. And of course handprints in the concrete that is under the staircase. A little piece of history in case someone ever takes some time taking it apart. ๐ I'll have to think about where to put our "signature" in the RV now.

Hey OldTrucker63, I see you sign your work too. I guess that lets whoever re-does it will know who missed something in the "last" rebuild. I used to do that when I built houses - signed the back of the sheet rock before sealing up the wall. Sold my last house and they tore down one of the walls my name and date (1972) were on. Gave that chunk to my Granddaughter as a gift 'cause she grew up on the place. I also dropped a coin of the year I sealed up the room in the same wall I signed - wonder if they found it (usually a quarter). Don't do that anymore - too much of a chance of lawsuit over "poor" construction practices. As the saying goes - "...they don't build them like they (we)use to...."!

tboss wrote:Hey thanks There will be a few more 2x2's under the big window there, I know what your saying it sure needs the extra cause there is a lot of movement in the rear part, I will try brace it up real good.
HEY DRIVER i SEE IN DA PIC OF YOU DRINKING THE COFFEE A GOOD PLACE TO PUT SOME MORE BRACING IN THE REAR WALL TO REDUCE THE RACK THAT WIll BE REAL BAD ON THE BACK OF THE COACH,,,IT LOOKS LIKE A JOINT IN THE SIDING RITE BESIDE THE WINDOW ON BOTH SIDES ,,i WLD RUN A PIECE OF THE FRAMING ACROSS THE WALL AT THE SEAM ON BOTH SIDES AND THEN RUN TWO PIECES TOP TO BOTTOM IN THE CAVITY THE CROSS PIECE MAKES ,,RUN THEM DIAGNALLY FROM ONE CORNER ACROSS to the other corner ,,opps sorry for the caps.. Im not shouting I just never look up when Im typing the hunt and peck method...let the up and down pieces meet on the some side of the up rites,,this will add a lot of strength to the wall and help prevent leaks around the window and side corners...I hope you understand wht Im trying to convey here because I just barely understand it myself<
