Toyo tires

Its time for tires for our 97 Pace Arrow 37'. I know the Michelin XPS Ribs are the best but they are also the most expensive. We have the tag axle, so I am looking at 8 tires. The tire shop suggested Toyo Open Country H/T Tuff Duty tires as an option. They seem to have pretty good ratings, does anyone have any experience with these?

Thanks in advance.

The Goz Fam.

I've used to ht tires on several equipment trailers. They are tough and last awhile.

Why would Michelins have an extended life over the others? Sounds like maybe an urban legend to justify the cost 🙂

I have run Toyos on my 32 foot Southwind for 5 years. Have travelled about 25,000 miles on them including some rough roads back East after the Winter and before the annual road fixes. Really good ride and ZERO problems. A lot less $$$ than Michelins. Now, my tires are aging out even tho the tread and sidewalls are great. My size is 245/70/19.5

Now I am looking for replacements as I am headed for a 10,000 mile trip beginning in a month in BC, AK, YK and Alaska. Am considering Michelins because most everybody agrees that they can provide 6-7 years of life whereas almost all other brands are 5-6. Now waiting for a quote from my tire dealer on both Toyos and Michelins. I might consider the Michelins for 10% more given the extra year.

Make sure that you buy tires that were made no more than a year older than your buy date. Make the dealer search for 5-6 month prior.

Cant go wrong with the Toyo's - they're tough as nails.

I'm running with Toyo's and have been very happy with them. The ride is actually a little better than I had with the Goodyear G670 OEM tires.

My Dealer sells Micheline and Toyo. They suggested to me that the Toyo would be better. I'm happy with mine.

I put Toyo's M154's on my coach 5 years ago, previously had Goodyear.I think they are great tires. No issues at all, tread is still like new and a smooth ride for me. They were suggested to me by a well known local tire dealer that does a lot of RV business.

They rode extremely rough. Luckily Les Schwab was willing to exchange them with no penalty.

I put Toyos on my rig for a very short time. They were HORRIBLE ! I took them back and exchanged for Michelins. Yes, it is more money but worth it in my opinion.

I would never buy Toyos again.

Toyo makes a great tire. Pretty much when it comes to RV's my favorite tires are Hankook, Toyo, and Michelin.
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

I have had excellent results with Toyo tires, better than Michelins in my experience. And typically got just over 50,000 miles out of a set.

No clue what size tire you are looking for but if Hankook has them I would look at those.

Your rig must have 16 inch tires!
I ran several sets of Toyo 19.5. They served me very well. Long lasting. They had stiffer sidewalls then the Michelin tires that came on the rig. Stiffer sidewalls helped with body roll.
