Very curious

Edit: please reply to this thread if you travel in a MOTORHOME only.

I've been curious about this for years. When reading reviews of campgrounds/RV parks very frequently I've seen comments about the cleanliness or lack of cleanliness of a CG restrooms and showers posted by reviewers who state they travel in a motorhome. All motorhomes I've seen have their own bathrooms. In the ten years I've camped in a fifth wheel I've only used a CG restroom once... And that was because we had reservations for dinner, and only half an hour for our family of four to get ready.

So can anyone tell me do those with motorhomes really use the CG restrooms? If so, why? I'm honestly curious about this.

What difference does it make whether the camper is in a motorhome, FW, TT, etc? Most of the bathrooms are pretty similar.

Actually, that's the point. I can't figure out why the overwhelming majority of reviewers on another RV Park reviews forum who rate the comfort stations/bath house camp in motorhomes.

Even if the park showers aren't used, if you're giving a rating on the park as a whole, good reviewers will at least check the showers/bathrooms to see what they're like in order to give the full review.

Most of the time, we camp with no hookups at all, sometimes with just electric..so we use our own facilities a lot.
sometimes, we camp host where we only have electric and water and have to move the rig to a dump station to empty the tanks...so then we use the campground showers and bathrooms to stretch the time between dumps.
but, like someone else here as said, we usually eyeball the campground facilities at least once so we can offer info on the forum when asked.

For us it depends. When we camp state parks where its just electric hook-up, my wife and I use the full convenience of the bathroom, shower, etc. But if my 23 year old son and his girlfriend come with, they use the campground facilities which allows us to not use up the water quite so fast and also prevents us from filling our waste tanks too fast as well.

We use our own bathroom and shower in our motorhome. Why spend all this money on a Motorhome and then not use it! :?

It because you posted your question in the motorhome section. A majority of those reading that section own motorhomes.

I was referring to my original post where I stated that the website I use that has user reviews of RV Parks (NOT this thread) has an overwhelming majority of comfort station/bath house reviews by people who camp in a motorhome.

We don't have a MH but a TT with a shower. I prefer to use the TT shower. I'm only 5'4" so it works fine and I shut the water off during the shower to keep hot water available and not fill the tank too fast. My husband will use the public showers because he's 6'2" and it's just easier but has managed a shower in the TT. I prefer my boys use the TT shower unless an adult can go with them to the CG showers.

Hi,

We travel in a motorhome and also stay put for 3 months in our motorhome and never use shower facilities provided by the campground. I may occasionally use the toilet while I am going for my walk.

I'm in the "rarely use the CG facilities" group. I have my own bathroom inside why go anywhere else? We often check out the facilities to evaluate the overall condition of the campground and I do use that in my reviews.

In almost 15 years of traveling in a motor home I have used the coach's bathroom/shower exclusively. DW will use the shower in a CG sometimes if it passes her standard.
