When we arrived here, south of DC, 2 weeks ago I washed and waxed the frt & rear caps (they allow bucket washing). We are leaving for East Tennessee tomorrow so I decided to 3 rag the rest of the RV. I did the left this morning and just finished the right side. Shade is a wonderful thing. It is now clean and looks good. Next up is six straight weeks of fishing and looking at properties, the primary reasons for this 6 month trip.

(Actually yesterday)
I made a meatloaf in the convection/microwave using combination setting.

When we are on the road, I never have the time to figure out how to use the convection oven, so decided to experiment with it while at home. (This way, too, the house stayed cool.)

That meatloaf came out the best I ever made or even tasted (cuz I'm not the greatest cook around)!

2000 F53 chassis. This week it's install 4 Monroe shocks, Firestone rear Riderite bags and rear brake inspections. Shocks were way worse then I thought they would be at 30k miles. The comments here about stock shocks being junk are correct. Out of 4 shocks, 1- was serviceable (not good) 3- I could collapse be just a light push on them.

I've spent the last several days waxing the beast. There sure are a lot of square feet on those flat sides but it sure looks good when done. I like to just look at it and imagine the next trip.

I did some trouble shooting on the basement air. The start capacitors seem to be the problem and I'll try to pick up a pair Monday.

Recently I fixed a leaking fuel line for the generator, changed the chassis air filter, glued a loose cabinet door and fixed the heater control (reconnected a disconnected wire).

Later today I am going to replace a torn awning strap and will change my transmission fluid as soon as I receive the filters I ordered.

After all this I am ready to go camping!

Within the last 2 weeks---

I changed out the serpentine belt on the DP Cummins. I carried a spare new one and read a thread recently that made good sense. Basically, the belt may look fine but after a set amount of time, in my case 25000 miles, the belt could have damage to the internal cords that does not show on the outside. The idea is to change out before breaking it along the road and put the old one away for a spare rather than carrying a new belt as a spare.

I installed an A/B switch in the TV cable so now when we use sattelite its in A and when plugged into campground cable its B. No more unhooking sat receiver for cable.

Replaced bracket that attaches throttle position sensor to injector pump. It had nearly worn thru mounting pin, and I was having issues with exhaust brake occasionly not engaging. Fixed that problem.

Fixed a small leak in plastic coolant reservoir with a patch kit from NAPA.

Just finished removing 800 miles of Minnesota and South Dakota bugs from the front of the MH. Fixed a wiper that was out of alignment and found a stripped acorn nut on one wiper. Will have to come up with a permanent solution for the stripped nut.
