Just a simple project, installed a shelf in my second cupboard to
have more storage options

Took the last two days to wash and wax the rig and 5 minutes to replace the gas spring on one of the cargo doors. We head North next Saturday.

Replaced the water-heater yesterday - replaced with identical unit as original (Suburban SW6D). While at it, installed an indicator light that lets me know when the unit is actually heating water. Green wire, from switch, is negative (ground); brown wire, from controller*, is +12v when the unit is heating. Tapped into both these wires and connected to a LED indicator ($10 at Auto-Zone). Will be nice to know when the heater is finished after showers and washing dishes.

*This wire actuates the solenoid on the gas valve.

Today is the day to finish activating the fresh water system for our trip tomorrow. We had to cancel our first run due to freezing rain and snow. Temps still are only in the high 50's and lower 60's. But at least the rain has stopped for several days.

Replaced all interior bulbs with LED. Put new rubber seals around entry door, on 2000 Discovery. They are poor quality doors and must be resealed every year or two, for wind noise.

moved it out of the Barn and Parked on the Pad in front of the garage. Installed new wipers and wiper blade pivot posts Hopefully start cleaning tomorrow.

Changed the oil and filter in the genset. Changed the oil and filter, air filter, fuel filter, installed 180 degree thermostat, flushed cooling system and put in new dexcool and new sparkplugs. Just replaced new coach batteries last week. Getting ready for a trip to South Dakota in 2 weeks. Still have to sanitize fresh water system. Looking forward to our 4000 mile trip!

bought some flame retardant spray for the cushion covers LOML is making and sandblasted/primed/painted about half of the shower surround.

Washed it after a drive thru very dirty rain soaked roads over the weekend. Then started the Zep Finish Wax job that I have contemplated for a couple of years. So far I am VERY impressed with results.

Got a phone call from the shop today to come and have a look at the bathroom floor before they carry on. The floor is OK! The base of the wall behind the shower is another story. Some rot along the plate and a short distance up the wall. The owner, Bob (whom I have known for decades) pointed out: "Why would they put a union behind the shower?"

From the floor, the plastic pipes for hot and cold go up for about three feet where each one had a union, go up another three feet to an elbow connection!!??? Just asking for a leak. He'll replace them with single piece lines. Bob has been building and rebuilding custom campers for 30 years or more. I trust his workmanship. Be nice to have it all done right.

Bled the brakes. Used one quart of brake fluid. Put insulation in the dog house f53.

Our vinyl flooring has had some major damage from the severe cold here and split in 4 places. ripped it out when we got home from camping last Sunday. Just finished installing new cushioned vinyl last night. it looks and feels great. I will get a pic tonight.
