I put 65% reflective ceramic tint on the outside of the rv windows, and a light smoke tint on the inside of the windows. Combined with the 3rd new a/c unit the inside is a brisk 71 when the outside broils at 108. We shall see what 115 - 120 holds for us.

Today I installed a brake system vacuum pump from NSA on our RAV4 toad to eliminate the "dead pedal" effect when towing. I had previously tested our ReadyBrake system both with and without a dead pedal, and determined that the "live pedal" was noticeably more effective. As anyone that's owned one knows, the older F-53 chassis brakes need all the help they can get. ๐Ÿ™‚

used a few cans of expanding foam and 3 cans of undercoating to try and quiet down the cab area. Not sure if it will do any good until I take it out the next few weeks.

Also relocated the tall exit assist handle inside the rv to the left side of the door instead of the right. This allowed me to install hinges on the step well cover I made and secure it out of the way by flipping it up. The handle on the cover engages with one of those automatic gate latches which is mounted on the side of the cabinet by the door.

The first time we used the cover it was quite a pain in the ass to move it every time somebody came in or went out.

The cover is to prevent our one year old foster baby from falling down the stairs and hurting himself. It also gives a little more floor space visually and in a somewhat practical manner.

Recovered the last two vertical things that go along side the windows and up into the valences. Not sure what those are called.

Today I reinstalled my Lippert Hydraulic pump assembly after having to take it out last week due to a leak in the pump seal that allowed hydraulic fluid to flood the motor.

That had left me with my slides extended at a campground over the Memorial Day weekend. We managed to get the slides back in manually and then limped home. I had removed the pump last weekend and rebuilt it with a new seal. The old one was loose and no wonder it leaked. I have found many others with this same problem with this particular pump.

Unfortunately, the motor was burned up pretty bad and the motor shop I took it to last week said that it was beyond repair. However, Lippert agreed to send me a new one under warranty (the coach was bought new last December) and I bolted that onto the repaired pump and reinstalled the unit.

Had a few problems getting the wiring just right, but with the help of another owner with the same coach who had done this repair last November, I finally got it done and the slides worked right on the first try! I ran them in and out a few times to get all the air out to the system and check for leaks, and it now looks like we are back in business.

Put a new skylight, vent covers and roof. DW gave me a bagel. Wow! She didn't have to do that. All I did was put a roof on the RV.

After fixing my power washer (one allen wrench and 4 new O rings) I decided to try to wash off the black crud that looks like mold from the '84 Holiday Rambler. It hadn't been washed in years. It did a good job of getting it off and surprisingly, some things that were black turned white, and some things that were white turned black. It really made a difference on the fiberglass and plastic and made the awning look like new, too. I love my power washer. It isn't so powerful that it sprays off the paint or harms the surface. Just does a good job cleaning.

Just finished the last piece of base molding around the new Allure vinyl tile floor that I've installed. This is a great flooring option for any motorhome! The whole project, from removing carpet and staples, to laying the vinyl, to finish moldings took about 4 days. It looks really great.

What did you use

It is called "45-Trak" from ALARM MASTERS in Houston, TX. Talk to Eric at 888-933-3900. He will ship it anywhere in 48 for free. Unit is smaller than a pack of cigarets and simply plugs into the OBD. Finding my OBD was the biggest problem - actual installation took 15 seconds and then a few minutes for it to find enough satellites, just like GPS. I don't have to do anything else just plug it in and forget it. You can probably get an insurance discount as it is also can be used to track you coach if it is stolen. I think there is a wired version if vehicle dosn't have OBD.

Installed screw eye at ceiling/wall junction on both side walls just behind driving seats. Added 1/4 nylon rope between screw eyes. Then hung king size bed sheet on rope making a barrier for improved cooling on the road using dash air and when camped using ceiling air. Without getting technical, there is a big difference. Enough that DW will sew/hem rope into one edge, cut excess off bottom and ends making it look more professional. Total investment <$5.00 for rope and screw eyes and maybe $15.00 if you don't have an old king flat sheet.

I did the same thing using blackout thermal drapes, ceiling track and the wheels that ride on the track. Haven't tried it out yet

We do, we normally call that space: Bathtub, bedroom floors. LOL
