We had a warm sunny day so got out and waxed all of the shaded size of the motorhome I could reach standing on the ground. Then spent time checking gaskets on bins ect. I had to reglue several that had come loose.

Strange when I started it was a 23 foot MH. By the time I got down the side I was sure it was a 60 footer. Its a slow job. I am sure it has not been polished or waxed in the last 11 years.

Hi all,

I use my RV year round and today purchased a dual fan to replace the grill under the stove so I can blow room temperature air under the sink to help prevent freezing of the water lines.

I got a bottom of the line Sunbeam dual fan unit intended for use in windows. I'll be controlling it with a thermostat next to my water pump.

Regards, Don

Installed the new LED LCD TV and Blueray player. Took it for a drive. Really did not want to turn it around and come home. Go figure.

Dropped off the jenny at an Onan certified service shop at 1100am... after a small engine shop had tinkered with it for a month... well, by 2pm, they Onan guy called me and told me it was "perring like a kitten" one bad relay. AWESOME. So, since it was removed from the RV, it took me till about 530pm to have it installed, re-weld my exhaust heat shield for the jenny and up and running. Had to tack weld one bolt to a cheap wrench to reach a back mounting bolt... worked like a charm. So I exercised the jenny with the A/C for about 45 minutes and took her for a 10 mile drive... got her home and washed the dust off the windows to take it on a day trip tomorrow... LOVE IT.

A while back I installed a dark window tint on the over cab bunk area and on the door glass, Then we got some of the insulation used for garage doors (Same stuff the folding windshield covers are made of but in rolls) and my wife sewed velcro in areas I marked. While she was doing that I installed small pieces of velcro around the windows in a number of spots so the window screws ran thru them. We then stuck the insulation over the windows. We have noticed the RV is much cooler with the sun hitting the front part. And it seems to take much less heat to keep it warm.

We use the front area for storage only but were upset several times when we had to park with the afternoon sun hitting the front. The heat was like an oven. Also seemd to be a very cool spot when heating.

Isn't it great that AGM's don't have to be vented? Also they don't have to be upright. They can lay on their sides or on edge. I don't have enough space below the furnace and refrigerator or I would have tried to connect them on their sides there.
They add about 132 lbs to the rear axle, but I weighed the rig fully loaded (except for passengers) and it had 400 lbs available on the rear. Luckily the water tank is opposite so that there is some balance too.
I gave up and took the RV into the shop today to have the genny fixed. It was showing a code 14 error. They replaced the carburetor and blamed varnished gas. There was hard amber colored stuff caked on it. Seems to run well with a new carburetor though. Blamed the ethanol in today's fuel and recommended Stabil with Ethanol Enhancement to combat the culprit. Always good to have something fixed and not broken--especially before a big trip!

Found out that "small engine repair shops" dont know JACK about Onan generators... after a month of head scratching, they called and said I need to take it to an RV service location. Lucky for me, there is one down the road, the mechanic said he could have it running in 4-5 days... I didnt tell him I had it out of the RV and on a roller dolly, so hopefully being able to take it into his shop, should save some time... (big trip in 29 days)

Actually, you don't need ventilation for AGM as they are completely sealed and non-gassing. I did the same thing but installed in an outside storage that is acutally under my bed. AGM bateries cost more, but generally have more capacity than automotive batteries and longer life.
