People sometimes ask us that. Well, this is the time of year to show you. :B

Our favorite wildflower, California Poppies
They have cheered me in the darkest times.
200 years ago, they blanketed the Golden State.
Now they are far fewer,
but you will always see them in our yard.

I was dragged into the internet age kicking and screaming when my DD, my firstborn, went away to college and it was new. Connecting seemed prudent and the person who set up my account suggested the username. My surname was in use so he simply added a 1 to it. To ease the burden on an aging mind I have used it whenever possible ever since!

HD stands for Harley Davidson ; drvr is short for driver. For years DW and I toured the states by motorcycle. HD can also stand for "heavy duty" driver as I enjoy driving, being on the road and going/seeing places.

Worked in the fields of Salinas Valley to earn money for school. Found out that school was a lot easier than field work. 49, year I was born.

"Leenite" is a rearrangement of my real first name (Eileen) that was bestowed on me a loooooooong time ago by my kid brother and his friends. It started out as Leen-eye, then morphed into Leenite. Then it was shortened to just Ite. When my niece was born I became Auntie Ite, which I sometimes use in other forums and websites.

And no, my last name is NOT "Dover." :B

This was a fun thread - much better than fighting about WalMart. Thanks, CA Poppy!
Retired, full-time RVing and loving it!

Why do you all use a special/fake forum name?

Some people worry about security, but for others of us, it's just more fun to pick a name that means something personally. After all, we didn't get to pick our real names. :W

These are all fun to read. Kinda like meeting someone for the first time in person after a lot of phone calls. Not what you've visualized.

I figured mumkin for a term of endearment. Assumed Jim Shoe was a name...like, Manhattan venture capitalist and corporate raider James R. Shoe III, who threw it all over, bought an RV and drove to Ohio.

Mine, omjones is an oooold time handle from ham radio days and it means old man jones. I liked it and have been using it for 15 years.
My signature 'I am Canadian' I adapted from a beer commercial.

I think it speaks for itself. We run the roads three months out of a year.

markopolo is just a blend of my name - Mark and the traveler Marco Polo.

People often give me a nickname: Marko, Marco Polo, Markus, Marcus Welby, M.D. (showing my age a bit with that one 😉 ) Even Markle Knarkle after Evel Knievel because of a airborne motorcycle misadventure.

On forums I'll try for marko but it usually already taken so I work through my nicknames.

Fun topic!
