Garmin GPS-Where to buy for best price

I am interested in purchasing a Garmin GPS for our motorhome. Where are you finding the best price on the RV model GPS. Also, what is the most up to date model for the RV Garmin GPS.

Yup. I have several Garmin Refurb'd GPSs and they've been rock solid. Comes with full factory warranty and full tech support. Garmin rebuilds the units to be "like new" and stands behind them.

Every Garmin refub'd unit I got looked brand new, in brand new boxing and brand new mounts and accessories.

Can't think of why you'd purchase a NEW one unless a refur'd isn't available.

I decided to purchase the Dezl and not the RV because the Dezl version has a setting for Hazardous Material. I have a buddy who is a truck driver (and RV'er) and uses the Hazardous Material setting when driving his RV (think Propane). I have 60lbs propane and my 5'er is 13' 2" high and 43ft long.

His experience has been route avoidance for bridges and tunnels and has yet to be stopped or sent down a road where propane is prohibited, when selecting the hazardous material setting.

Also, I don't the the RV campsite database on the RV version. The Dezl has a simliar database to find campsite and rest stops for large rigs. I repeat...campgrounds, not only truck stops. Additionally, I can use the smartlink on the Dezl 760 to get the GoodSam Campsite App from my Android.

I couldn't see a reason why I'd buy the RV version, over the Dezl.

That said, ymmv and you pay your $$$ you take your choice. I chose the Dezl 760LMT.

I am also wondering if the Garmin is the best choice of gps for me as I have propane and need to know where I can go.

What is the general thought on the Garmin for those who have propane? My second choice would be the Camping World Rand Mcnally model. What are your thoughts on this model?

When the RV760 first came out I contacted Garmin about the lack of propane setting feature. I got the stock answer from Garmin that they send out whenever someone questions a lack of something in one of their units - "That sounds like a useful feature and we will have to look into that for future models". Which means - no we don't have that and we won't be upgrading the firmware to include it. This is the one thing keeping me from purchasing the Garmin. It is useless if it routes you into a tunnel or on a bridge that is restricted for propane.

Best Buy has the RV760 for $399 on their website - same price as the truck 760 and likely the list price. Best Buy does run sales at times and you may be able to get it discounted there if you catch the right sale or general discount on any item coupon deal.

It seems odd that they would not have included this feature. We have propane on our coach and it would be great to know before setting out if we will have a restriction.

How does everyone deal with this who carries propane and uses the Garmin GPS?

We have about 80 pounds of propane on-board.

The RV 760 does not have a propane setting. I would think any road is going to warn you way ahead of time of any restrictions.
