This may be the end of buying a new Windows 7 PC.

It looks like manufacturers of PCs will no longer be allowed to build PCs with Windows 7 anymore, though inventory can be sold until it's gone. If you can't stand Windows 10 and need a new Windows machine, this is the time to buy it.

Mine have been updating on a regular basis. Just did a couple updates yesterday, and a couple more today.

Mainstream support is done, however serious security / operational flaws that are discovered will still be patched for the next 4 years or so, 2020...

I ran across this article about Levono adding Windows bloatware and spyware from the BIOS. There are multiple sources confirming it, and Levono has made a BIOS update available to remove it, so I assume it's true. It started with Windows 7. Won't it be ironic is the best "upgrade" for Windows turns out to be going back to XP?

I'll never buy a Lenovo product. I was really disappointed when they bought Motorola from Google.

I have managed to buy 2 off the shelf, name brand computers without Windows of any kind- a Dell laptop with Ubuntu preinstalled, and later a Lenovo Server- quad core, 16gb memory, no hard drive, no OS box for just over $330. I have win7 on a virtual machine should I ever need it- the only thing I use it for now is Turbo Tax, and I could get away from that reasonably easily.

As an IT professional, I hate having to support Windows 7 until 2025, or further. It is so slow and cumbersome compared to Windows 8 and 10.
As a tech-savvy user, I hate it every time I have to use win 8 or 10. They're both slower than 7, and 10 feels like its primary purpose is a storefront for microsoft.
I'll second that. The auto update is the worst thing they have tried to stick up our butts EVER. The only thing 10 does better is start and stop quicker.

I've found that once you tweak Win10 a little bit, it's really not much different than Win7. Most of my work PCs use 7, and I have 10 at home. It's not difficult to move back and forth.

The main thing I dislike is the removal of the basic photo viewer & manager. Surprisingly, if you want to do some simple edits of pictures, you can open a Word document, insert the picture, and do quite a bit of editing within Word. Then right-click and save the edited picture.
