Verizion new Data Rates -And vets discount

Went on line last night and 10 GB of data is now $80 I was able to change my plan and save $20 but it was not automatic I had to do it.

Another heads up all Veterans get 15 % of with them - not retired, vets

When Millenicom went TU, I took up Verizon on their offer of $99.99 for 20 GB, and they told me that the veteran's discount does not apply to special offers like that.

I have the discount through my employer, and it is on the regular service. Do not have a data plan as we do not have smartphones...

I just went with Verizon last month. My employer has a discount agreement with them. The discount is definitely on the data plan but not on the voice plans.

I have a data only plan with Verizon and went through all of the hoops for the veteran's discount and was denied. They said it was for voice plan and not data plan. Just went through this with them this summer. Good luck.

If not a vet....check with them because they give discounts for being retired from some state governments also.

No this is based on the current plan not a limited time offer

My local store said only retired vets when I inquired. I already get a 15% discount for being a member of another group, and they said no additional discounts (which makes sense). It is on the base minute plan only, comes to about $6 a month.

And the stores here would not accept a DD214 or Ret ID card. I had to send Verizon an email from my AKO acct...which would not work because AKO thinks the Verizon site is suspisious. Ended up with getting a CSR on the phone that could make things work. Don't know what items it covers.

Then you got lucky, because like The Texan I was only able to get the discount on one of the three "plans" I have. I got it on my old "family share plan" and it was as The Texan has pointed out only on the "base plan". I tried to get it on my data plan and my single line smartphone plan and was told it was not available for either of those. First it was not applicable to data plans and second it is not applicable to any of the "special" or already discounted other non data plans.

I think you might be surprised when you see the first bill.
