Cable TV

Not that we want Cable tv all the time, but with grandkids sometimes it is a blessing. We have not tried the hookup yet to see if it works, of course not all campgrounds have this option. In our driveway, I can get one channel via air. My question is there a list on the internet of campgrounds that have cable hookup, mostly looking in Canada. I have been searching, but no luck yet.

The big problem with cable TV nowadays is that all the cable companies went digital and they're all different. They each have their own proprietsry converter to change their digital signal so it can be viewed on an analog TV set.

Wow three channels...lol. My DH was hoping for a local news/weather channel where ever we may be. I may be able to mess with the tv enough to get that for him. Grandsons are 7 and 5

Not useless lol. I have a big binder of movies that will be with us. Been buying up some oldies, that no one knows I have put in there, so there will be a few surprises for those looking for a movie.

Periodically in Walmart, we will pick through the 7.99 bin of previously enjoyed DVDs, grandson 15 and 16 will watch them.

I find the bottom tier most campground get to be useless anyway. 6 shopping channels, 3 channels dedicated to saving my soul, 5 infomercials, a local weather banner the PBS line up.
Bring a bagful of DVD's.

Miss read his post. Thought he was looking for program listings, not campground listings.

I seem to recall some charts that show

Campground Price Feature Feature Feature (and so on)

But the URL's I cheked were of no assistance.. Basically it is visit every campground's home page and check, Most of them, if they have cable, will say so.

IF it is a chain of campgrounds,, You may find such a chart.. That lets you check multiple CG's at one time. But alas,, I know of no page that lists them.. May keep looking if time allows.

Now, once you get to the park, Use antenna web or the free smart phone app "Antenna Helper Free" to find broadcast towers .

I open the app, it snaggs my GPS cordornates, then downloads local TV towers from the FCC, then offers me a list (useful for some things) or a map.. also a "Compass View" (Useless far as I'm concerned but some may like it)

I go to map and it shows me in the center with lines radiating out to towers. I pick the most dense angle and aim..

Using LIST I can convert TV-Screen channel to Broadcst Channel (They are not always the same any more) and then I can use my Sensar Pro to peak that channel,

Right now I have both OTA and cable ability.. Kind of fun, had a lovely time setting up the guide service I use (Got it whipped though) so the DVR's in my network can pick and choose their inputs, Either the digital converters for OTA (A/V 1 Input) or the Cable (RF) and record... Sadly, I need MORE HARD DRIVE 🙂
