Well, it looks like we ran off another newbie. Three pages of argument and no word from the OP.

Hey Crystal Beach, Surfside here. I'm sure you have dumped your tanks by now so anything I say would be of little help.

There is a world of useful information here and not everyone here are cranky old men.

Ya'll come back now, ya hear?

Suprised that no one mentioned wearing latex gloves. I keep a pack of cheap ones, and always use them when dumping. Getting to a place to wash hands is usually difficult when pulling out.

I agree with this post. It is not the end of the world making a mess. Just clean it up and learn what went wrong. Gross but not the end of the world.

Doesn't anybody use the 'written word' anymore....no wonder folks can't follow simple instructions/directions

That seems to be a very RUDE thing to say, a lot of people find a video much more easier to follow when you have a real person demonstrating what to do.

I can see you are #2 on the list of the most posts for the week. You seem to be in love with the written word..........even if it means taking cheap shots at others.

1. hook sewer hose to RV and to sewer inlet, making sure that the connections are solid and will not come off.

2. open black tank valve and monitor the hose and connections, you will hear when the tank is empty.

3 leave the black tank valve open and then open the gray water thank valve, after a while you will hear that there is no more noise of water running, close the black valve and then the gray tank valve.

If the place that you are staying at does not have a good connector for the hose, there is a donut that is used to avoid the hose from jumping out of the tube and making a mess.

It is better if the hose from the RV to the sewer connection has a 2% slope, and if you can avoid having the hose run on the ground snd then turn up and then down on to the sewer you will avoid having a hose full of sewer when you go to disconnect.

There are a number of clear plastic connectors that will let you monitor the sewer line.

The movie, "RV", starring Robin Williams, gives a good example of what NOT to do. Well worth a watch. We have a copy in the RV.

Sounds to me that some folks on this forum should probably avoid reading the Beginners section. We all started out by looking at stuff and thinking WTH. I would never have thought of going to You Tube for an answer. NEVER!! But I'm 72 and didn't grow up with computers like the most of you. Also I was raised to be polite and helpful, not snarky and know-it-all

Youtube: dump holding tank

Seriously? Why the useless "fake post" comment?

And, has it occurred to you that some may have a connection that is too slow to stream YouTube. Or, perhaps, they asked in a Forum where they can ask questions for clarification.

Should answers telling someone that somewhere else is a great place to find that information be disallowed? Or are you referring to the condescending remark?

Do you have a sewer hose?

Connect and let it rip. Close valves, remove and rinse. Done.
