Propane tanks cover

I just purchased a 2015 Creekside 20FQ. I noticed that the plastic propane tanks cover is not secured to the tanks or the trailer frame, it is being held down only by its own weight. It looks like an upward gust of wind could lift it up and off of the tanks. Should the cover be secured to the tanks or trailer frame?

As said if it seems too loose pull it off, loosen the wing nut, slide the tanks apart a bit, and tighten the wing nut back down. Mine fits fairly snug and I have to rock it side to side to get it to come off.

No problem with the hard plastic covers. They stay snug on there.

I had a cloth cover on my tanks for about a year - the mice found it to be a nice place to nest so I ended up removing it.

Like PawPaw I can move the tanks farther apart so the cover fits tighter.

ours has sat unsecured, on top of our tanks, for over 8 years now and has never lifted off.

My pop-up had a soft cover (single tank). Almost lost it once, but the hose went through a hole in the cover and it wrapped around the hose. It would never be "lost" unless someone unzipped the top, unhooked the propane line and then took off with it.

All 3 of my TT had double tanks with a hard plastic cover. Never ever even came close to loosing it. It's not tied down.

When you loosen the big wing nut holding the tanks down, there is a little movement in tank position possible. I move my tanks outward a bit to make the plastic cover snug. It takes some effort to overcome the friction and pull the cover off.

However, on my previous TT, a tight fit for the cover interfered with the L bracket for the W/D hitch, so that plastic cover was very 'loose' fitting.

Never had a problem and have never heard of anyone losing one, though I'm sure it happens eventually somewhere.

A lot of folks have those covers, dang few see them blow away (if any).

I had a fabric/vinyl cover on my TT but it was more pain than worth. I am not sure you'd not be happier long term with no cover at all.

My hard plastic cover fits snugly but I ran a couple of zip ties together at the bottom (mine came with two tabs at the bottom) for a "Just In Case" measure!!

My hard plastic tank cover is free-floating. Haven't lost it in 2 years.

I did lose a single 20# soft cover off my pop-up though.
