Waxing a toilet?

Just bought our first RV, a class B. The fellow at the dealer giving us an orientation to the vehicle recommended putting car wax on the inside of the toilet to help prevent "sticking." I've searched around the web but I couldn't find any chatter on this topic, so I'm hoping to find wise words here before we take our first trip next week. Thanks!

Perhaps the previous owner was on a high fiber diet :B

I've been lurking, watching this thread and I have to confess..I polished a 1971 Aquamagic with rubbing compound till it shined like a new penny. The previous owner had used the toilet for storage, judging by the scrapes and and marks in the bowl. I also rebuilt the flapper mechanism and replaced the return spring.

Superfine rubbing compound will polish up the plastic so it looks like new.

Never heard of such a practice! We keep a toilet brush beside the toilet. We have a hard and fast rule for the camper... you use it, you brush it... immediately! This works. No need for wax.

You use a power polisher on it silly. Nobody hand polishes their toilets nowadays. If you were to post that in the RV toilet waxing forums they would think you are crazy!

Absolutely, that is the only to do it, but as always you MUST have the correct Power Tool!

I am trying to picture “spit shining” a toilet with carnauba wax.

Just sat down here at the computer to relax and browse a few threads. My mistake for sitting down with a glass of milk and chocolate oatmeal cookies. Let the nightmares begin!

I do what Old-Biscuit mentioned, add a little water to the bowl. Works for me.

After reading everyone's methods I decided that waxing the toilet was a lot easier than laying out tp sheets or brushing after every squat.
I used carnuba boat wax which should hold up better than PAM or Pledge. Now just to put it to the test. :E

Everyone knows that you are suppose to use Carnauba wax on toilet bowls. Come on people...this is like toilet waxing 101 here

reduces water consumption :H

eliminates damage to the toilet valve and seal:H :H

Given a choice between the two, I'd use the wax.
