The summer sun of southern Arizona can be brutal on RV's. Fortunately we spend a lot of time up in the mountains beating the heat but when we return to our home north of Tucson the coach resides in the designated RV storage yard in our community. Less than 2 miles from our home the yards is fenced, locked and patrolled by the local security guys.
Lucky for us we have the ultimate neighbors:
The coach faces due north so the big fiver on our east and the even bigger Tiffin 40 something tag axle on the west have created a veritable valley of shade for our little 24' C. If either neighbor is gone we put the tire covers on but usually don't have to. Ideally we would have covered storage but around here that would be the equivalent of another coach payment.
Our poor trailer AND truck camper are sitting in the sun here in Havasu for the summer. I keep reminding myself that its only for one summer, while we build a house- then they will both have a garage to hang out in when we are not using them. But man, at 116* it sure is hot. And the sun never quits.

Nice ! I did some flat concrete work and overhang trimming on the side of the garage and can slip it in between the mutual fence with the neighbors house and mine. The neighbors place is a rental , so it helps with the noise/view the renters cause when they have their weekend parties. Great kids so all we don't have any problems with them...
Kids did live in Red Rock. I noticed a couple of the neighbors placed plywood cutouts on the tires, of their pickups, on the west facing side to keep the sun from ruining the tires. That sun is brutal. We went somewhere out there on a day trip. I wore a double yoked western shirt. Wife wore a heavy western shirt but she still got sunburned through it. I've gotten severely sunburned with just a heavy t shirt on. There's a reason for 40 inch brimmed cowboy hats. I can't imagine the severity of the sun, on June 22, on Mount Logan, I think it is. Parked out there for a good while I'm sure the paint takes a serious beating.
You're fortunate every bit helps. Once in a while I've been lucky in my storage lot too. Right now just a couple wave runners next to me-very poor shade. But yes the taller RVs will keep nearly all the sun out of my south facing windows. The office looks at me funny when I request a spot next to a giant whopper of a class A..
Holy Cow Batman! What a blessing to have a 40x20 garage with attached shop! The New Mexico sun it brutal on fiberglass, it's nice to have the RV and truck inside. Randy
I hear that ... also in Tucson, and my "neighbors" aren't near as accommodating. I put on tire covers and pool noodles on the windshield wiper blades. Covered storage? Hah!
