Best battery charger - winter storage

In the past, I've never brought my battery inside for the winter. I'm about to replace it and wondered what the best device is to keep it healthy? Costco has a Deltran Battery Tender that looks like what I might need.

We always use shore power, so battery will only be for break away system and electric jack.

Thoughts?

How long will it be in storage? Mine sits for 6months. No battery tender. No monthly check. Nothing.

Look at all the farm equipment, the construction that sits for months unattended. Same batterys that RVers use.

I use a few of the Deltran batt tenders. think they are the greatest thing since slice bread.

BTW, did you check the price on Amazon?

I leave my RV plugged in all winter so my PD converter handles the house batteries. I have added a Trik-L-Start so it also handles the chassis battery.

Where I store my fiver I don't have access to power or solar. It's inside an unpowered building. So I take the battery out and store it on a shelf connected to a one of the many battery tenders.

Hi,

I chose to go solar instead of shore power.

I use a Battery Minder. I also leave the battery in the RV and disconnect it with the OEM battery disconnect switch.

I have battery tenders on all my toys. Beltran has a few different models. They have a basic "Battery Tender" they also have a Battery Tender plus. I prefer the original battery tender.

To give you an idea of how well they work. My motorbike is a 2007 and is still on the original battery. DW also has a bike. Her battery tender was used one year during our move east. That year her battery had to be replaced.

I also used one on my old boat. I sold the boat after 10 years with the original battery.

The smallest Battery Tender is best used on a fully charged battery that is fully disconnected from any load. Don't expect to just pull up with a low battery and put this little charger on.

Any converter will also maintain the battery just fine over the winter months.

The Battery Tender at Costco is a great value. Go for it!

The Battery Tender will work well for you. Also, there is Battery Minder that is similar.
