I don't like the Boarax idea because of it's danger to pets and children. Some of the other ideas are interesting. Although some of them may be dangerous for your pet that is often only when eaten in large quantities.

That sounds like a lot of mixing and farting around to create a sticky mess.
Well, it is not 10 steps. it is 10 different ways.
I used one of them and it worked.. I had some things I wanted to make ant free but without toxins of any kind.. Dusted with baking soda.. Ants gone Soda is .. An ingredient in many things you eat already so it's not in the least harmful.
Some of the suggestions are very pet safe.. I have cats. (Baking soda is top of that list too).

DE is solid, proven pesticide. Just spread it very thin, otherwise the bisects will walk around it and not be exposed.
It must also be kept dry. Worthless when wet.

I have used Diatomaceous Earth for many years, on ants, fleas, and carpet bugs with great success and you can eat it,non toxic to kids and pets alike.
Just sprinkle it around anything that you don't want pests into,or in the carpet to get rid of fleas or carpet bugs.
You can get it at Amazon among other places.

The topic was not necessarily on doing it "better" but to attain the same result. As to your statement, some folks CAN do it better. Just because a product is bought off a shelf doesn't make it the ultimate solution.
Aren't you a retired pesticide applicator and business owner?

I agree. I also wonder just how money is being saved, when you consider your own labor.
Are you that lazy?
