Cold in the bedroom.

The heat is wonderful.... and not.

It has 2 outlets on either side of the kitchen cabinets. The problem is, with the door closed to the bedroom or bathroom, they get really cold. The doors have a bout a 2 inch gap at the top and bottom.

What do you do to get better heat in the various rooms?

Add a large grill in each door.

I was thinking of doing that. How big did you do? Did it work?

I did it for my pantry for the exact opposite reason. I wanted it to stay cool. There is one grill at the bottom and another at the top.

Bigger is better.

Consider electric heated carpets from Tempurtech.

Problem with the heated carpet is that I tend to be on battery power for the coldest times. So, anything electric is not a good option.

And then your pipes freeze.

By the time that is a risk, the lines are winterized.

Then you aren’t camping long enough. :B

You mentioned you don’t have enough room for a buddy heater. We have about a foot on either side of the bed and 18” to 24” at the foot. It’s not spacious, but there’s room for a heater and two dogs.

There is about a foot on the sides and end of the bed.

I mean I am camping with winterized lines. I tend to store it near the end of November.

It seems strange that the bedroom does not have it's own vent?

On my rig, with the front bedroom, middle living/kitchen, rear bath, the bath is the only 'room' that does not have it's own vent because of where the entry door for the rig is..

I only have 2 vents. One in the middle and one to the bedroom.

Normally, I don't like to run the gas furnace as it's loud and uses a ton of gas.. I always have at least power hookup at the sites I go to, so we have a small electric heater that I'll use in the living area. When the door to the bedroom is closed, no heat really gets in, but usually the comforter and shared body heat is fine..

We close the bedroom door because all the LED lights that stay on makes in the living area makes it really bright in that room. So much so, you don't need any lights on when going to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Anyway, is there anyway you can add a furnace vent to the bedroom? I know when I use ours, it really heats it up nice.. It's just loud when running.. My furnance has about 4 unused 'cutouts' that can be used for additional vents. It really blasts the air with only 2 of them being used!

Good luck! Mitch

No way to vent it to the bedroom.

This time of year, it will be used in the bush without much power outside of the battery and possibly a generator.

There are no vents in the bedroom to begin with. I would need to put something over a vent.

I really don't want to do that. There isn't much floor space.

You’re assuming it’s ducted to the bedroom. It is very likely not.

But anyway this is one of those questions that makes a person wonder how some people actually function in normal day to day challenges…

Assuming there's some sort of a nightstand, a small electric heater with a thermostat (the kind where you actually set the temperature) would work nicely. Another thought: a small clip-on fan attached to the top of the door (if there's room) might direct the heat downward?
