Costco Is Now Carrying Diesel

As the title says you can now get diesel at some Costco stations. I have not doubt that this will become available at more stations in the future. This link shows the current and future locations. I would expect that just like their gasoline they will be very cost competitive.

The Costco around here has lines so long that it just isn't worth it to me. I'd rather just drive outside of Austin so I don't pay urban hipster prices, and it is about the same.

Ironically HEB grocery stores have gas stations that have just as good prices as Costco if not better.

Of course, shopping-wise, Costco is something worth hitting, so it might be worth checking out on an off hour.

Is it Bio 20%? I can't run Bio 20% so it's Freds for me.

Nearest Costco got diesel about a year ago. They put the only diesel island closest to the entrance and it also has gas. If I don't go first thing in the morning then all the little cars line up for the closest island and diesels have to wait in a long line. Very frustrating and when I wrote corporate and suggested a sign at the island saying "Diesel" I never heard back.

They just upgraded our Costco, diesel is available at each regular pump. The trick is to go early when they open or late in evening before they close, I used to to that when I had to gas up the boat, 50 gallon boat gas tank, 32 gallon truck tank, a few cents a gallon adds up.

Costco fuel stations are open at 6am, so I try to go there before 7am. No lines, low prices, Top Tier. Now my DD is a diesel so I'd love to use Costco.

I wonder how Costco will lay out the diesel pumps. Will it be available at each regular pump? Dedicated pumps/lane/line for diesel?

My guess is that Costco is not trying to attract the business of motorhomes and commercial vehicles.
They're gearing up for diesel passenger cars and light trucks.

I agree to sit in line idling, wasting gas to save a few cents a gallon when you get up to the pumps doesn't make sense to me.

A bit of searching and you can match or come really close to the Costco prices.

No thanks to gas *OR* diesel at Costco!..:S

You were talking about Costco, but one of the reasons we go to Sam's or Fred's is we need food too. Might as well do both with one stop and they both usually have large areas. DW does the shopping while I do the filling......

Prescott, AZ also has propane.

The only problem with getting diesel in a MH at Costco is usually their fueling areas are a little cramped and getting a 40' DP in with all of the fuel traffic is just about impossible unless you go at some really odd hours. I'll usually swing by the Prescott Costco for Diesel first. If it's too crowded as usual, I go on down the road to Sam's Club that has a better layout and isn't nearly as crowded. Almost all of the Sam's have diesel though I've seen a few that don't.

I find it's a better deal to get my diesel at Fred's. Buy $2 - $300 worth of groceries a month and get 20 - 30 cents off per gallon on the first 35 gallons. After that you get 3 cents off per gallon which puts them in close competition to Costco.

The way Costco is laid out here intentionally it seems no way a large MH could get in or out.
They have propane at good prices and hose for vehicles but you cannot maneuver a Mh to it they way it is laid out. If the lot was semi empty it might be possible but I would have to look at it again.
Cabelas next door has parking for RVS.
